Come on. Bo Jackson was the better runner. Herschel was just big, strong and fast as a cat. Bo was, big, strong, fast, shifty and quick to boot. CWebb, was decent sized, fast and quick as hell, but he wasn't running over people like Walker or Jackson.
I was at the game where he got hurt. As a kid I had never been to a game my uncle took me we were sitting right at the yard marker that he was injured. I never knew it was the Pacific game just remembered it as the game Chuck got hurt. Needless to say it took me many years as a kid to believe that it wasn't my fault for being at the game![]()
I remember when the tandem of reggie cobb and chuck webb were tearing it up. If I remember correctly. SI had them on the cover as cobb webb. we played bama and no back had rushed for over 50 yards in like 19 games against them. that game they combined for over 350 yards. great vol's
I liked Chuck Webb but in my opinion Reggie Cobb and Charlie Garner were better.
The most amazing run in Neyland in my lifetime by a running back was Reggie's run against Duke. I did not see Condrege run against GT in person but the video was outstanding.
