Trump has made it a point to demonize the press and question its credibility...what was his thinking? That they would tuck their tails and skitter away? They will continue to do their job but have probably lost any admiration they may have had.Sadly CW you are taking the same approach as Todd and trying to make something an issue that really isn't. The point of this thread is not defending Trump, his speaker, or what was said, and the best I can tell very few (if any) have done so.
The point is how unfair the media has been and how far Todd went in trying to get a response about something so trivial, when the press repeatedly ignored the lies told by Obama and Hillary.
The media: "Hillary, did you delete any emails from your server?"
Hillary: "Yes, but they were all non-work related."
The media: "Well that's a very reasonable thing to do... we have no further questions."
Trust me.....they have no admiration for any Republican.Trump has made it a point to demonize the press and question its credibility...what was his thinking? That they would tuck their tails and skitter away? They will continue to do their job but have probably lost any admiration they may have had.

Go back to the Iverson rant. The media doesn't have to go to Trump's level, either. Its happened before and it will happen again, but the media has been trolled on several occasions during the campaign running head first into stories and only made to look like fools later. My advice to the media would be for them to not take the bait all the time or at the very least, ask if an event is even newsworthy.
I'll ask you, is the crowd size at the inauguration worthy of being reported on? Does (or should) the average American care about this?
So what's the rule? A reporter gets zero followup questions? One? How many?
And who determines which questions are trivial? The White House Press Office?
I'm just trying to figure out what good journalism is.
Do you care about the attendance at an Alabama/Tennessee game or do you care about the final score?
You could have company in the asylum. Both, as well as first downs, passing yards, time or possession. That's why they report stats.
Can you imagine if Jones or Saban had a press conference to rant about the attendance figures that were announced and then started spouting obvious lies. They would be committed.
