Chuck Smith to Florida? (very bad rumor)

No...at 2:30 He says "Ya cuz know Coach Smith, he kinda already told me, he already told me..he might be going to defensiv coordinator.... and he might be moving around..but really I have no idea about Coach Wilcox"

It sounds like he says Florida, but he is really saying Def Coordinator. (As if Wilcox would have left)

Listen again guys. All Chuck was doing was addressing the Wilcox rumors. He wasn't saying he himself was going anywhere. This rumor is dead after the next phone call with the kid to let him know Wilcox is staying, if he doesn't already know. Just a misinterpretation of what the kid says.

OK, let me correct myself... I heard it as clear as MUD. After the suggesting that he said D-Coordinator, I listened again and heard it (but with an accent that made it sound like "D-code'na").

I don't think Smith will go to UF, but the guy did say that coach Smith told him he may go to Florida at 2:36 .... I honestly don't think he will go, but that was a nice catch by the OP.. Thanks for the hook up...

Lmao!!!! Yeah ok

Not to induce mass panic, but Gabe Wright in a video dated yesterday said, "Cause Coach Smith kinda already told me he might be goin' to Florida and some people might be movin' around..." :eek:hmy:

Odd, that he would've told this to a recruit, but why the heck would he have made this up? Thoughts?

You need a Scout subscription. Scout.com: Under Armour: Wright talks recruiting

Worst rumor/thread/post so far for 2011.

Gabe Wright wants to come to U.T. BUT his parents are sold on him going to Auburn.
He will try to use the Jan 16th campus visit to convince his parents that U.T. is for him.
If the parents say Auburn, then Auburn it is. If he can convince his parents that U.T. is best for him and the parents agree, then it is U.T.
His parents will decide for him!!!! I see him going to Auburn though. It is close to Columbus Georgia

This. He was referring to how Muschamp went to Fl and Wilcox might go to Texas but said his "he" after mumbling smith said...."he" is Wilcox in context. He was confusing how Muschamp went to FL and Wilcox would be at Texas....Wright is just a kid trying to act like an adult in an interview and he got confused.

That is false, Wrights mom loves Tennessee & Dooley. It's Wright that is in love with Auburn not his mom.

What's the deal with Chuck Smith? Is he staying or going? I'm not talking about anything based on what Wright may or may not have said either. Just hearing different things in general and am curious as to what's really going on.

Chuck Smith is not going to Florida.

Florida is hiring the Bama DL Coach Bo Davis to take over the same chores.

Did you read your post? You first said Bo Davis is going to FL and then posted something that said he's going to Texas.:ermm:

The Gators also announced Monday that they have hired Dan Quinn as defensive coordinator and defensive line coach, Frank Verducci as offensive line coach and running game coordinator and George Wynn as director of football operations.

Quinn has spent the past 10 seasons coaching defense in the NFL, including the past two seasons as the Seahawks' defensive line coach. He worked alongside Muschamp when they were both Miami Dolphins assistants.

And that's that. Call in the dogs and piss on the fire, it's time to close this one up.

Was mentioned here

Rumor has it Chuck Smith of Tennessee is coming to Florida to fill out the defensive staff. This would open a spot for Pete Sirmon at UT.

Just to add to all of this, word out of Dallas is that Jerry Jones has CCS on his short list for the Cowboys D-Line Coach opening. It has been reported on The Fan (sports talk) down in Dallas has been reporting this now too.
From what I've been told, Jerry wants a young "hot" coach to come in and get their pass rush back, and he was impressed with what CCS has done in the past with his individual clients and at UT, especially since he was using only D-ends and a converted offensive guard on the line. Before you all panic and destroy me for repeating what is out there, which I know is inevitable, let me just say it is highly unlikeley he goes, but know that he is a wanted coach. With players he can hopefully get us back to where we need to be.

GBO!

Austin Price on VQ said that after speaking with someone close to the situation that, " This is no more than a rumor and CCS is very commited to what the Vols are pitching and has really pushed the VOL FOR LIFE motto."
