Agreed. I too wouldn't mind seeing Spangler in K-town. I was impressed with his resume when his name was first mentioned after the DD hire.

There ya are... This will be true and will be one of the best hires that we could have made. CS has been hired by independently by the the NFL dl. Look up on you tube Osi umenorya(the dl from the giants) and CS. Anyone against thus hire is CRAZY.

The only reason I would not believe that Smith is the guy is that C. Low siad it. IMO he is the largest putz to cover UT football. Well maybe right behind Hooker...LOL

He's hired and the DC is locked in as well, just waiting on NSD...though I wouldn't mind letting Bernie be our DC...he would scare the heck outta me and I'd play really good. LOL

FWIW, I firmly believe we have a DC in place but not to be named until after signing day. From all the sources that know Chuck Smith in Atlanta, and there are many since he lived here, he has already been hired.

DD is very good at keeping things close to the vest. WE will all be happy with the choices after NSD.

If Chuck Smith is already "hired" why wait until after NSD to announce him? That isn't like hiring a coach from an existing College staff right before THE day. He was with the NYJ's.

I can't believe someone starts a thread based on some generalized random hunch that Blimp Hubbs makes. That guy is a reporter, nothing more, doesn't form an opinion, can't make a prediction. His expertise is informing us when something has already happened, not going to happen.

However, I think the D-Coord is already in place and we will know who it is either on Thursday or Monday (after the Super Bowl).

I think it will either be Travis Jones or Kevin Steele. I know I know, it couldn't possibly be Steele at this point. Well, maybe but maybe not. I think that the whole thing with Steele was supposed to be kept quiet (kind of like the Chuck Smith thing, but Rex Ryan let that one slip) and some deal has been worked out where he will come after NSD so his move doesn't shake up Clemson's recruiting.

Whatever the case may be, if we don't hear something thursday then I would put my money on Travis Jones.

Just my guesses. We will see!

I'm definitely not buying this whole Dave Doeren rumor.
