Top Alabama judge orders state to ignore federal gay marriage rulings - Orlando Sentinel

Whatever side of the issue you come down on, this guy cannot issue such an order. He is clearly violating the United States Constitution. This is the same guy who got into a showdown with the federal courts when it came to having the Ten Commandments in the courthouse.

This is the kind of thing that gives the Evangelical community such a bad image.

Sounds to me that he just wants to be prudent and wait for the expected SCOTUS ruling. Trying to avoid a potential quagmire should SCOTUS rule against gay marriage.

Ahhh, the constitution. The guidelines you have to follow when you're not doing the bidding of the politically elite.

Conservative activist judges are really starting to give liberal activist judges a run for their money.

Alabama gay marriages allowed after Supreme Court order - CNN.com

The Supreme Court denied a motion to stay the federal court decisions in Alabama. So what could happen is that a clerk or a magistrate, warned not to follow the federal decisions, will deny a request for a license. That will result in an action filed in federal court to force it to occur. If the federal court orders that it occur, and the clerk refuses based on an order from Moore, this could get very interesting, very fast.

What's going to happen in states like Alabama if the SCOTUS rules in the states favor, effectively giving states the right to ban gay marriage? Will any of these marriages be valid still?

Where's your outrage for the potus who indiscriminately picks and chooses which law or parts of to enforce or circumvent?

Incorrect. Sexuality is innate and cannot be changed, similar to one's race. The big difference is that sexuality can be hidden. Should it be?

No I believe it's a personal choice or from previous abuse. I would prefer those that follow that lifestyle keep it to themselves and not have disgusting parades and what not
