Chris Walker sack prediction

How many sacks will Chris Walker have this year? I am setting the over/under at 8. What do you think and why?

opponents will run the ball on us up the middle, a lot and with success. lot of passing won't be required meaning tough on the ends. ends will be chipped a lot by RB and TE in passing situations due to middle pressure..

If we are getting pressure up the middle, then why would the RB be chipping the DE (unless he's releasing out of the backfield)? In that scenario, the DT or LB is the immediate threat, not the DE coming off the edge.

meant lack of pressure from middle

you consider his leadership, faith, and his perceived love of the Vols. However his on field career is mediocre because of injuries. He will get 4 sacks this coming season. Good luck Chris you are a role model and stand-up guy.

i'll say 7-8 or so... It's impossible to judge with the new defense. Reveiz at the media days didn't necessarily give anything away, but there will be a lot of different looks, and Walker will have his fair share of big plays. If he goes nuts, i'll say 11.

Am I the only person who thinks CW is somewhat overrated?? I went to quite a few games last year and every game I saw him out of position at least 2 or 3 times. I'm not saying he's a terrible player - he has his fair share of good plays but it was pretty much a given every game that he would be out of position and allow a big play.

The Wilcox D is gonna surprise some people!

Agree wholeheartedly. Corners need to be huge though. I think Kyle Wilson being able to be on an island and shut down lesser receivers helped Wilcox go more wild.

Its hard to be realistic when your blood runs orange. I would much rather be optimistic. GBO! It just make waiting on the season to start that much more fun and exciting. Being a realist or pessimist, just ain't any fun. Booooooooooooooooo!

Boise is very good. Which should lead us to believe we will be good, maybe not so much this year, but would be great if we where!

I think he definitely has QUALITY players, but the corners are suspect, and Kyle Wilson vs. their schedule of receivers compared to our corners vs. jones, green, etc... Is a big difference. An island out there on a blitz goes from reasonable to possibly 6.

Wilcox's credentials and knowledge seem to be awesome, and we'll get to see him hopefully bring chaos two weeks in a row early on against some spread.
