Chris Simms question

We got AJ Suggs as a last minute replacement. Ugh.

No sir, not how I remember it. I remember Suggs committing while Simms was still committed to us, and Suggs saying he wasn't scared of competition ... it appeared Simms was. Plus I remember Suggs thrown into game at LSU and we came from behind to take them into overtime before losing. I salute that young man.

I remember reading this quote from Simms also, and thinking that it was a very odd comment .... Never believed it for a moment! However, I do believe that his decommitment had a negative effect on the Vols success during the next few years, while Texas and good ole Mack Brown(Vandy FB player) enjoyed rising sucess.

Did Brown graduate from Florida State?

Brown had an injury that ended his playing days at Vandy. But to answer your question, yes he graduated from Florida State where he was a student coach.

...It simply came down to Mack Brown and Texas screwing over Major Applewhite. They basicallly "promised" that if Simms went to Texas he was going to be there guy anyway. Major Applewhite was waaaayyyyyy better. ...

And the fans knew it and didn't like it at all. If you watched any TX football you had to wonder why Simms was starting over Applewhite.

I remember Simms saying he wanted to play for the "real" UT and then putting on a Texas cap.

I didn't miss him. And still don't.

Let's hope he is not as much of a jerk as Chris. My nieces went to Texas and Chris Simms arrived on campus in a stretch limo. He was detested by most of the team (they dated some of them). I always felt that Tennessee was better off in the end, especially when Major Applewhite had to step in and rescue the season after his demotion. It was classic. I used to listen to the Dan Patrick Show and he loved Chris and would call him up at Texas to chat on air. Man, that dude was full of himself.
