As OC for Bosie ST under Dan Hawkins for five years, I would say that its Peterson players and system. When Dan Hawkins went to Colorado, Peterson took over and how is that turned out?

No BS here.... I played for the mighty MOCS and we played Boise on the blue turf in the season opener in '93..... We beat them and cruised on our way to a 2-9 season thus ending the career of the legendary "Buddy" Nix..... Anyway, the point is that Boise has certainly come a long way since 1993....

Norm Peterson would be a better choice than Chris Peterson. Hell, Buzz Peterson would be better.

I think Chris Peterson would be perfect for the Orange. Look at what he has done and is doing for Boise St. with less talent. The offense is never boring and the defense don't know what is coming at them. Think of the possibilities. Damn, I want CHRIS..........

I thought Petersen would be a good canidate also when I mentioned it in another thread I got my head bit off for even saying such a thing. I think he could do good things here but what do I know.

who would you guys want, Pete Carrol, Jon gruden, WHO? Lets be real, those coaches wont give UT a second thought. Let's get us a proven, young coach ( who is 10th in the nation) and wins games.

Im glad you know who will give us a second thought and who wont.

Peterson is not my 1st choice but I would not be disappointed if he came to UT.

I agree I would love to see Petersen in Neyland. How do you figure he can not cut it in the SEC? I am sure you did not think Urban could either

Are you guys kidding me...... That's the same thing they said about Urban Meyer and he has been kicking our buts ever since......

I posted this in a thread awhile back when the topic of Chris Petersen & Urban Meyer came up. The only reason you guys compare Urban Meyer to Chris Petersen is because they both had success at some school out west.

Meyer just didn't start having success at Utah. He was an assistant for 13 years, then took over a 2-9 Bowling Green team, and went 17-6 in two years. Then was hired by Utah, 5-6 record the year before Meyer. He went 22-2 at Utah, and won a BCS Bowl.

Chris Petersen took over a Boise State team that won 4 straight conference championships, & went 45-7 the past 4 seasons. Yes, he deserves credit for being the offensive coordinator, but Dan Hawkins should get alot of credit for Boise State's success.

Peterson is what is to be considered the 2nd tier candidate. First, the U will go after the 4 or 5 big names, and if they don't land one, they go down to the 2nd tier.. the younger coaches from the smaller schools and the prominent coordinators like Muschamp and Strong.

Like ESPN radio said this afternoon, this is a a grade A opening and I say it should be treated as such. If Fulmer is gone, then I want to be impressed by the signing.

Tom Cruise told me that Scientology was real. Of course, I had to pay to learn this.

If Peterson was named coach I would personally fire Hamilton on the spot. He inherited what Hawkins started. Heck while were at it lets give the zooker a look, lol.

I think he should definitely be looked at!!

His record is great and he would be as ready as any for the big time.

I would definitely hire him before Tim Brewster and Brian Kelly, THATS FOR SURE!!!

I cannot understand why posters on this board would perfer someone like Kiffen over Chris Petersen. Chris Petersen is 33-3 over the last 3 seasons. He is undefeated this season with a freshman QB. WE can't get a win with ANY QB. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!!!!!

I think we want something bigger and better but if it comes down to Kelly I would pick Peterson a hundred times over Kelly.

Why is that? All Peterson has done is maintain success. He has never had to build it. I'm not saying he couldn't but he has done no where near what Kelly has done. Don't give me 33-3 he plays in the freakin WAC. Besides he hasn't signed any 4* recruits this year. Remember chewwy you said you can't get it done at UT if you can't recruit. I hope you're not going back on that now.

Peterson but Boise He was there as the OC the whole time. In fact, when Ian Johnson was asked was he OK with Peterson being the HC, (paraphrased) he said why wouldn't I he recruited me and most of the guys who are playing and he has been the one coaching us up. Hawkins is equivalent to Clown. Peterson a good coach. You compare a guy's recruting to his conference. How many times can I say that. I do not want Peterson but if we are really capped on money and have to pick from lower canditates I would put him high on the list with Patterson. If you are going to come back an say he did not build Boise some other form of ignorance I am not going ot respond. Do your HW and there is no other conclusion.
