Hmmm... I swear I though we were pretty damn good in the 90's and turn of the century as well. Must have all been a dream, since apparently Washington was so much better during that time.

Negative. Sarkisian was Washingtons coach before Petersen. They were nowhere near as low as we had now.

2014 Christ Petersen first year.
With that said, i want Petersen. But we wont get him.
They were pretty damn good in the 90s and turn of the century. They had losing seasons 04-09. Thats it.
Perhaps reading comprehension isnt your thing. I posted nothing about Tennessee. I responded to a poster who said Washington has been terrible for the last two decades. They havent.
Someone also mentioned that Washington is where Tennessee is now when Petersen took over. Thats not true either.
Im telling you we could have had Petersen if we tried. Hes attainable. Low salary compared to what we could pay him. Buyout is low. He was interested.
After todays fiasco it probably hurt us. But in some cases it makes the next guy look like hero to the fans maybe not the AD. But the fans will like next guy.
Only way for ad to save face is to hire Petersen. Only big name thats truly attainable. If you hire Chris Petersen fans will love that. And it doesnt save the ad job immediately but it quiets the fans momentarily its really curries only hope
I heard on the radio he may have some interest and may have been contacted. If so he definitely moves to number 1 on the coaching list. Lets hope he is tired of the West Coast and lack of publicity.
This is the first post in this thread. ^
What in the hell makes anyone think that he will pack up, move his family across the country and leave a perennial top 10-15 team to coach this disaster? Exactly. It would take a lot of money. A lot of money that if UT was willing to spend, we wouldn't have been left with Schiano. A homerun hire IS NOT going to happen. This isn't UT of the 90s. Get a grip. We're done for the near future. Accept it. I know, the truth hurts.
Petersen should be offered the BANK! Give him 10 million a year. 12 million. 15 million.
I don't care. Do it - and do it now! 10, 12, 15 million will be chicken feed once he starts beating Alabama!
I've said for years this guy should be considered one of the top 5 coaches in the nation.
Look what he's done with far less talent!
