I mentioned his name on here after the UF loss last year and was told he was too small of a name.

Pardon me for being slow on the uptake...is this another "hope we hire" guy, or is this breaking news and Phil's now gone?

here is the sad reality, CPF will have to have back-to-back bad seasons after last years "triumph" to get fired or step down, SO that means Peterson may be gone.....or may just have to much success.

I think he is exactly the kind of guy we need at UT. New ideas, new approach, new everything. I hope that they stay away from someone in the "family" and try for a fresh start.

Leave it to Hamilton and Cutcliffe will be coaching here soon or Randy Sanders. Worse, Fulmer becomes AD one day and has his hand on the program from that position.

Would be such a great hire...I wish something would reside here in the media about Phil being gone..

Breaking News: Reports claim that Phillip Fulmer will be fired upon next loss.

stop jumping the gun..
Peterson is from the opposite end of the football spectrum. Stop making this harder than it needs to be and go with Butch Davis.

Chris Peterson is my favorite candidate for our new coach. I love his offense and the way he recruits. I think Peterson is one of those guys who could really compete with Urban Meyer.

Seriously though, what would it take to get Fulmer gone. If we lose to Auburn we are screwed for the rest of the year. We will have no chance in the SEC, and will probably only muster wins against Northen Il, Wyoming, and Kentucky.

I've always thought Chris was a very good option at HC since last year. I would put him above all the other candidates out there at the moment.

He took over a very talented team.

Jim Levitt is another great option.

i like peterson and his offense but would it work in the SEC? i mean i know he has beat some high profile schools such as oklahoma but how would it work playin teams like florida and bama on a regular basis? im not trying to bash him (so please dont bash me) i would just like to hear others opinions on this:hi:

Jim Levitt is a great option as well. There are so many, Fulmer just needs to go. He's done a lot for Tennessee and I respect the man a lot. He's done his duty and its time for him to move on.
