Hire Phil as interim coach for a year for a couple of million---a bunch more candidates will be available next year.

I've heard many people suggest this. However, an interim coach deal will completely kill off whatever recruiting we have left. Who would come for an interim coach? Just hire Tee or Kiffin and be done.
