Chris Low Says It Will Be “Difficult” For Pruitt To Stay As HC

We could do much worse than chadwell. I kind of doubt he would come here anymore after all this.

Chadwell would likely come. ETSU alum. He only makes something like $400k at Coastal Carolina. Probably his dream job or close to it.

Bigger question is whether someone like Luke Fickell or Tom Herman would come.

Herman would be an upgrade but my question is could he compete in the SEC. Imo if you don't have major success at Texas you're gonna struggle at most every school in the SEC.
I mean he had several great classes and still struggled in the big 12. I don't see any signs that he would do better here. Recuiting to Texas is alot easier. You basically never have to leave the state.

Na, recruiting to TN is easier imo. TAM has a strong presence there now and can sell the SEC in their own state. Texas is massive, TN is closer to more talent hotbeds than Texas who has 1.

What do you consider struggle? 7-3 this year. 2-4 against Oklahoma his entire career (including Houston) and has never lost to them by more than 12pts. He beat no.6 Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. He has multiple wins against top 10 and top 5 opponents in his career. Has 1 bad loss in 4yrs at Texas; a 20pt loss in his first game against a ranked Maryland team.

He hasn't been perfect for sure. But he has consistently fielded a team that can compete with and beat anyone they play at each of his HC stops. That includes a no.3 Oklahoma team with Baker Mayfield who went to the CFP.

He's young with a high ceiling, fields great offenses, and we know he puts competitive teams on the field. Maybe Napier or someone else is the next Dabo, maybe they are Butch Jones or Jeremy Pruitt... I take the guy who has proven he can put a competitive team on the field consistently and hope he has learned from his past mistakes and fulfills the potential he has shown to be a great HC.

I want to see the reason why his players were negatively recruiting against him first.

I doubt Fickell would be interested. Herman, on the other hand, might just take it. He would be my first call.

Sure he made mistakes. No coach is going to get love from all his players. Barnes has the best culture in CBB and has players that have left and probably don't like him. Jimbo has done alright at tam.

Still have to know what the reason is. You don't want to hire the guy and have Texas self report recruiting violations while Herman was coach.

Agree, don't want another Tyndall situation. Maybe they've been doing due diligence this entire time...

Tennessee will NEVER EVER EVER be easier to recruit to than Texas...dumbest statement I’ve read on here all day

👆 this! Why all of you guys want Freeze is mind-boggling to me; yes, HF can coach. Yes, I believe he is a changed man for the better - but he is damaged goods IMO. Herman is the coach we can all be proud of and lead us back to our glory days. Herm to the Hill!!

Low is the one who has broke several stories over the years. He’s not the type to throw a bunch of crap out there and hope something sticks.
Yeah he has connections for sure. He doesn't burn his bridges so he continues to get the "LOW down" pun intended.

That’s the first time I’ve ever heard a statement claiming it’s easier to recruit Tennessee than Texas. In fact I’m guessing that’s the first time that’s ever been written or said.

Herman is option A. Younger than Freeze, great offensive mind, has helmed probably the hardest job in the country at Texas, and no baggage.

If he can't hack the big 12, what on earth makes you think he'd be successful at a place that plays Bama, Fl, GA every single year?

Lol ok pal. It's easier to recruit Texas recruits to Texas. TN is closer to more talent than Texas. TN recruits the entire east coast and south, were most of the talent is, better than Texas because of proximity. Texas will always do well in Texas and those talent rich states like Oklahoma, Nebraska, Missouri, and Kansas though
