When is the meeting in NYC? I thought Fulmer was going to get up with guys he trusts on some bright up and comers while there?

From his radio show last night:

"I think Tennessee will have somebody by Wednesday, at the latest, as their head football coach. I think they need to have somebody by Wednesday at the latest." -- Chris Low.

I listeded and i wouldn't post this as something Low has "inside info" on. In fact, they both sounded out of the loop on any direction Fulmer might be headed.

CPF and and administration have done a good job of keeping a lid on things. We have no idea who all they've talked to. I don't think it will leak out way before it happens. I agree it's crunch time.

Why does everyone think Tee is part of a Les deal? Not saying he isn't but where did this info come from and why has it been picked up on VN as a given?

I think that is how Les sells his hiring, Fulmer is a loyal guy and he knows Tee and maybe Steele gives him a better shot at getting the job. I hope its Leach but I dont think he will give serious looks at anyone that doesn't involve an old friend or former Vol!

Tomorrow.

Wonder if that will be enough time to interview and vet these unknowns....assuming they will all be in NYC as well? Thanks for the info. Will be good to finally have this behind us. This has been a helluva ride/hire. Don't wish to repeat it...ever.

I'm not sure he (or anyone) knows which direction Fulmer will go, but he may have a good handle on the target timeframe, and that led him to throw out something this specific and this soon.

I found it a little surprising myself as I expected it would be the end of the week.

We'll see.

I think it would be logical for Les to bring in a well respected oc who is a top recruiter and a UT guy. Its a perfect fit.

I don't know. The timeframe seems quicker than what I guessed, which is one of the reasons I found his comments interesting.

I really hope not.

I agree on the Les Miles front. But if it is Les, I think I'd be okay with Tee as OC. However, I could only see Tee making a lateral for certain HCs and don't think Les would be one of them. And the whole wifey, singing career thing on the west coast...

It's also interesting that Low didn't make any bold predictions with Currie at the helm. Bet there's a lot of trust between Lowe and Fulmer after all these years.

Because Tee is quoted as stating he's is interested in coming home, but not as head coach. Makes sense to bring in Miles with SEC experience and groom Tee to be a head coach. Miles is older and won't be around too long, and will be ready to hand the reins over to Tee.
