i know everybody is talking about how chris lofton is in a shooting slump but i want everybody to know that he will break through and still be the best player in the sec . . . maybe even the country
You may be proven correct by the end of the season, but isn't it great to see that the team can win with a less than stellar Lofton? It has been against inferior opposition, but uplifting just the same.
I do not believe he will win SEC POY or achieve 1st team all-american. Pearl has made a statement early on about this rotation. I think the most Lofton has gotten so far is 23 minutes or so. Most all-americans get 35ish depending on how deep their team is.
I'm assuming as the tough conference schedule rolls around that he will rotate a little less and keep Lofton in there longer for close to 28-30ish minutes a game.
when we need good FT shooting and ball handling, he'll see tons of minutes. I suspect his 2nd half minutes will go up dramatically as the competition stiffens.

Chris will be fine, he's notorius for these slow starts. Saying that, I don't think he'll average 20.8 ppg agains unless we're pretty beat up. Just wait till Texas and WVU and you'll see the same ole C-LO
He had 1 slow start last year in the opener then he laid down 30 against Fordham. Nothing like a 4 game (2 exhibition) stretch like this one where he's been this off. Plus he admitted he was in the slump well before the first exhibition game started.
