Chris Lofton... NBA draft this year?

I can't imagine he would leave, although I do remember reading a rumormonger with "inside info" on firetubbysmith.com stating that he had talked with Lofton's Dad, who had told him that C-Lo's high ankle sprain scared him into pondering declaring himself eligible after this season.

Then again, this IS coming from yet another jealous UK fan.

It's getting kind of hard to even look at TVA's threads anymore, isn't it?

Roswell, instead of being a troll and critizing TVA for a legitimate thread he started, why don't you start a thread about something (You haven't started a single one so far). Then you can be the target of some sucker punches and see how it feels.

No. He is not "that" guy. As much as I love watching him play he is not NBA material at the moment.

1. This is not a legitimate thread in my opinion.
2. This board is for expressing opinions.
3. My opinion is shared by at least a few others. Those that speak up anyway.
4. "Coach K and Pat Summit need a talking to at the end of the season" is just one off the cuff thread started by TVA, so I basically called him out for being a little ridiculous (kinda like you're doing now).
5. I don't start threads because I prefer a "read and react" method.
6. Any of the posts I put up are subject to any and all opinions so...............

Punch away Rocky. Have fun. :whatever:

Obviously, you have no sense of humor... at all. It is only a message board, not a confessional.

Relax, and have some fun in your life. :good!:

I'm very sure NBA scouts are aware of a GUARD that shoots 45% (not layups, jumpshots) in the best conference in America. Defense doesn't exist in the NBA. I don't care if he is six foot, NBA players get open looks at threes ALL THE TIME, and as the Gators know, he hits them from NBA range already. As for his speed, I disagree as well. He's pretty quick, and on one of the many fast breaks versus UF, he slowed down and faked a 3 pointer simply with a head fake, then RACED pass Corey Brewer for a wide open layup. The same Corey Brewer that ESPN called a top 10 pick in next years draft, at least before Chris told him to get on the bus.

What he said

I agree that he will back next year, or he should be anyway. He needs to work on his ball handling skills and passing. I also think he needs to become two dimensional. Yes he can shoot lights out, but he needs to get to the free throw line more.

I'm a Lofton fan, but this is Homerism at its best.

1. The SEC is nowhere near being the best conference in the country.
2. Teams that win in the modern NBA do it with D and his being only 6' is a problem. However, he does shoot amazingly well under duress and that's his biggest plus. Shooters of Lofton's caliber find themselves being guarded by a pretty stout defender every minute they're on the floor. If they can't beat that defender off the bounce, that defender will set up shop in his shorts, so he will have to make shots under pressure from 23'. Most coaches don't like that shot as a part of the offense.
3. His speed and quickness will be problem at the NBA level. Which NBA 2 is he going to beat routinely?
4. Beating someone on a fast break is hardly indicative of anything.

Phoenix or Dallas anyone? I would not say every team in the NBA wins with D

which is why they haven't won a title yet.

The Pistons and Heat played D as well as the Spurs

Lofton's game does not translate for NBA success he is a shorter Redick and that's not good

I think the conventional wisdom is that Lofton would have to play more the 1 than the 2 at the next level; sort of a Steve Kerr type.

I think he could play a Steve Kerr role coming off the bench and giving the team 5 to 7 points. I think he is unselfish enough to go from a go to guy to a role player though so that's a good thing. Hopefully that can happen for him

He never said titles. The Mavs have the best record in the NBA right now. I do agree with the D wins titles though.

Dallas is a legit contender because they now play D. Phoenix is a regular season circus for fans but are not real title contenders because they play no D.

Look no further than the San Antonio Spurs...they've been the most dominant franchise in the league over the last decade because they defend well.
