Chris Kyle: American hero or

Yeah, cause we all know, you are the man. Until you aren't the man. Then you deny being the man or ever wanting to be the man and the fact that you were the man was an exaggeration to begin with.

Am I getting it right?

Nope. You're lost. Have been this whole time.

It's been proven that Ventura wasn't even in the same state. The Superdome story has been verified by three different SEAL brethren in separate interviews as being told by Kyle, yet none of his units were sent there per SOCOM. There is no evidence of the gas station incident. No police records, no 911 call, no surveillance footage, no gas stations saying it happened. Not even a single cop that reported nor any autopsy reports of people shot in the time frame the incident happened. But be delusional SandVol. Believe it all happened. That way Santa will know you were a good boy this year.

All that is going in one ear and out the other, I'm afraid.

Thanks

Good to see that fat POS Michael Moore weighed in on the movie on twitter:

"My uncle killed by sniper in WW2. We were taught snipers were cowards. Will shoot u in the back. Snipers aren't heroes. And invaders r worse"
3:40 PM - 18 Jan 2015

Invaders r worse? Hmmm, I'm guessing his uncle invaded some country in Europe where he was shot by the people defending the country he invaded.

was looking for a little more insight than google and Wikipedia

I know your serving, and have been assigned or attached to Spec Op's and probably fallen out of a few airplanes

Just not sure where the anti-kyle perspective is coming from

you more than anyone should know that anything that happened in country is documented and witnessed

It's not like Kyle walked out, on his own with no spotter, and just started shooting people

Can't tell that by reading some of that here on this board..

I haven't questioned the confirmed kills or if there were more. I'd believe there were more honestly. I've simply stated I can't know if they were all warranted. I do know Kyle stated multiple times military aged males were threats. So there is that piece to worry me. I don't have access to the AARs and as I've mentioned the whole "confirmed kills" things seem to be littered with specifics to get it counted. I do respect Kyle for stating the total # doesn't matter, just that he wish he could've gotten more. Hopefully by more he only means actual terrorists.

but his post tour stories are over the top and have been proven to be false, not just by reporters, but by military and law enforcement personnel. That gives me more reason to question his character. I can't respect that, and I can't call him a hero just because he protected and saved so many American and other Allied lives. I've stated in this thread I think his character lies somewhere in the middle of bad a** superhero and coward or war criminal as has been tossed out by others. But because I'm not ready to bow down to him, so many posters on here lump people like Percy (who I've never even seen post before this thread) and myself into the far other side of the coin and think we are completely against the man.

I've known some true hero Soldiers. I've known some full on dirt bags. Most, fall in between. I'd like to think I fall in between, but that's for others to decide. I can't justify putting Kyle in true hero status just based off all the lies he's made in public, not to mention the fact that he took his service and turned it into a money machine.

I'm not saying his post war stories are true....not anything even close to this....but..... I did read where several police have admitted to seeing the security camera footage of the gas station shooting.....nothing more nothing less

Where? All I've read is police saying they heard about it. Nothing more.

I'll look and see if I can find the article. It was part of one that was bashing him for his outlandish comments. The guy writing the story and doing the bashing claimed he investigated it and that he encountered several cops that said they saw it.

that's exactly what the spotters and the AAR reviews are for

So if they didn't question it why would you

This isn't the same story I read about the surveillance video of the gas station shooting, but it's very similar.i believe it's the same guy that wrote the one I read previously

Here’s What American Sniper Chris Kyle Said About His Killing Two Men at a Gas Station in 2009 | FrontBurner | D Magazine

After our talk, I called the police chiefs of several towns along 67. Most of them had heard of the incident. One, speaking only on background, said he knew some of his men had at least seen the tape. But request after request provided no police reports and no tape.

People will go off on me, but I find it odd that for something so big the police chief hadn't seen it, but some of his men had. Just saying.

BTW, Carl Pickens is my third favorite Vol ever, knowing he got arrested for domestic abuse was pretty much life altering.

I thought the same thing when I read it. It makes no sense...

I guess at this point the question should be.....for the ones that don't see him as a hero, why not?
