I used to work with his wife at a bank in North Georgia and had the pleasure of meeting him. He wrote a book for them. He has a great basketball mind and is always willing to talk hoops.

Looking back on recent teams, the Vols weren’t bad defensively under Cuonzo Martin, allowing .412, .418 and .413 field-goal shooting in his three seasons. They were horrendous trying to play Donnie Tyndall’s zone last year; opponents shot .439 percent against them as some games looked like shooting drills.
Is a .02 or 2% increase really a big difference? Was curious about it.

That paints a moderately pleasing picture of something I could live with for the first year. The 3 is the key to hoops nowadays. I just dread being on the road and they miss 3 or 4 quick ones...that could be big trouble in little (insert SEC venue here). I am excited for it to start up. Always a great time of year when football is winding down and hoops is getting going.

It's about a 4-6ppg difference depending on FGA/game, I'm not sure it's as big a difference as Dortch made it out to be, but it is a noticeable difference.

2% would be more like 1 extra shot made per game. Don't think I have ever seen a team attempt 100shots in a game.

The difference was actually about 2.5%, so if the team takes 60fga a game, that's 1.5fga, which depending on whether it's a 2 or a 3 would be 3ppg-4.5ppg, apologies on the 1ppg I was off, did quick math, should've known better with you lurking.

Well since we are considering last year under Tyndall you can just about bet that extra basket or 2 made was a 3. So your 6pts post wasn't so far off

I am guessing the 3pt FG % difference was more than 2% worse under Donnie

Fact: Tennessee will struggle this year and the window lickers in this fan base (51%) will go on talk radio and message boards begging for Barnes to be fired.
