Chris Donald

ND has obviously given him something to think about. Hope the bleeding orange thing works out in the end. The girls are definately prettier at Tennessee.

I dont see anything in that article that hasnt already been said???

CD says that ND's stock has risen to the point where the schools are equal. Who do you think is going to get more love from the press this year? Who will have the better season in terms of Ws and Ls? UT will not get this kid unless they go to a BCS bowl this year. JMO but I figure it's worth as much as anyone's at this point

"I was hoping the trip was going to be bad so I could just commit to UT, but it turned out to be a pretty good trip,"
Does that not sound like he wants to come to UT. I think he hasnt commited yet just because his parents want him to go to ND.

I just remember hvwarrior saying that he would bet his life Donald goes to UT, he still might, but if my life was riding on it right now I might be sweating just a little bit. I hope he's just enjoying keeping us in a frenzy.

Really? Then why is it that a college that is absolutely free to any and every student admitted always ends up in the Top 5?

What school is absolutely free?

There are actually five that I know of in the United States. The United States Military Academy, The United States Naval Academy, the United States Air Force Academy, The United States Coast Guard Academy, and The United States Merchant Marine Academy.

In every undergraduate ranking, one will undoubtedly find at least 2 of those schools in the Top 10, if not 3.

I wouldn't consider a situation where I owe my university years of service after my graduation to be a "free" ride.

Considering that the Cadets get paid a monthly stipend, 3 meals a day, and their time at the Academy counts towards retirement, I would say it is basically free. Most cadets who apply for and are selected (less than 2% of all applicants) and appointed to the Academies would have entered the military anyway. Therefore, they do not feel as though they are 'forced' into service.

The ability to go through a Tier 1 school, debt free, also receiving a $30,000 "Cow" Loan (at the end of their Junior year) with 1% APR, and qualifying for full retirement at the age of 38, I would say is better than free.

When one considers that Merchant Marine graduates commission into the Merchant Marine IRR, and the average graduate takes a job earning $300,000/year his first year out, I would state that is the best institution in the country.

Monthly Stipend? Sounds to me like the NCAA should kick Army, Navy, and Air Force out of their ranks. We can't have student athletes receiving money. They should all be forced to live like monks.

I'd rather be Jason Allen.

But if Donald goes to ND, he can drive that 90 miles to Chicago to meet a girl who's actually intelligent on the University of Chicago's campus.

$300/mo. for Plebes (fresh)
$400/mo. for Yucks (soph)
$500/mo. for Cows (jun)
$600/mo. for Firsties (sen)

So, at the end of 4 years, each Cadet has been paid $21,300 (while all living expenses were taken care of.)

This is the day I'll believe either is a sure thing:

The earliest Donald can make a binding commitment by signing a national letter of intent is Feb. 7, 2007.

You mean we have to read about this until Febuary? :ermm:
