Look, if he'd said "Tennessee is 4-4 against Georgia and Kentucky under Josh Heupel, this proves they're not ready to play with the big boys," that would be misleading. It would be technically the truth, but a lie in its attempt to deceive. Kentucky doesn't belong in that conversation.

We sit in a position of strength right now over both Alabama and Florida. 2-1 in the past three years. To hide that behind Georgia, intentionally, well it smacks of desperation and dishonesty.

He said nothing unreasonable. It is yet to be proven that Tennessee can go toe to toe with the top tier. Ohio and UGA weren’t even close games last year. Yeah, beat bama but so did Vandy. The worst UF teams in forever still win consistently in the swamp. I’m 100% on the CJH train but elite status has yet to be attained. Hopefully tomorrow is the turning point on that.

Context is important. Kind of crazy to think we have beaten them two of the last three meetings. UGA single handedly makes the loss column pretty ugly.

Well it isn't like Georgia didn't have 3 unbeaten regular seasons ans two National Titles in that span. Outside of Alabama, who is beating Georgia? Georgia also has the longest home winning streak in SEC history.

Well I would argue we gave Ohio St a game despite being on the road without our best player, at least for a half

and we have been competitive with UGA late in the game the last 3 years as well.

Georgia is the last hurdle…but it is wrong to say that Vols have never beat an elite team under Heupel. Alabama, LSU and Florida are all elite programs no matter what they are doing in the present.

Nobody said “never”. That’s changing the argument to be right. The truth has upset a lot of you. We haven’t proven to be a top tier program YET. Getting the brakes beat off us in the first round of the playoffs proved that. This year, hopefully it all comes together.

I dont disagree with him.i have said that seems to be reliable from us under Heupel. We eliminate the threat early against inferior opponents but then its like our team goes into shock against Georgia when we dont find ourselves with wide open busted coverages which happens when our offense goes fast. Those smaller schools dont have the caliber of athletes to close gaps when thry miss. UGA not only rarely bust a coverage but they seal it off. Its and odd dynamic.

CJH didn't inherit a roster loaded with
5* football players...
Kirby did ....and credit to Smart he has upgraded some.....Fla has top rated talent and Bama was in FB pergatory
Until Saban took over and with some
Natty's players all wanted play forTide
Not making excuses for CJH and he is improving the roster and I think players like playing for him.... lastly CPF had a loaded roster most of late 80's and 90's

We are 11-10 against top 25 teams under CJH. That isn’t a complaint, a condemnation, or me whining, that’s just proof that we are average, not top tier. I’m 100% on the CJH train. He has saved this program. I 100% believe we will reach the top. Up til now, we’re not there yet, sorry if that upsets you folks so much. Now I’m pissed because I’ve spent my morning siding with the statements of a gator.
