Honestly, the kid could barely talk English on the live stream... no wonder he's Memphis bound!!! Seems like he would have been academically ineligible here anyway
Yeah, because Ramar Smith and Bobby Maze were National Honor Society members when they enrolled here.

-1 And for the record, I've never said any of the mentioned. My book is still out on Pearl. Although some decided to shove their foot all the way down their throat before thinking about what they were saying when Cal left. But the constant hatred of Pearl is really quite annoying. And that's with me seeing only a few posts that someone else has quoted. It's like two high school girls fighting to be Prom Queen.
(in this case only one is fighting and the other doesn't care)

However, Going into Memphis (despite the fact its in the same state) and trying to convince a Memphis born and bred player to play for a bitter rival of Memphis would be rather difficult for anyone, including Pearl. Let's see the beloved Cheatin Cal or Coach K go into Chapel Hill and steal a Born and Bred Tarheel, legitimately - without cheating. It can be done, but it is no easy task.

Pastner did learn to cheat for recruits from the best around though. :)

Wasn't difficult for Jerry Green or Nolan Richardson to do in the past. Or for Coach K, Lute Olson, or Roy Williams to do recently.

We are not going to recruit well in Memphis and shouldn't even make it a priority. It is 6 hours from Knoxville to Memphis! No kid that grew up watching Memphis basketball is going to leave to go to school 6 hours away.

Someone needs to let Bruce know about the 6-hour rule.

Quit that. Truth is to Pearlophiles what garlic is to vampires.

Key Phrase - In the Past.

Cal, although I despise him, made it relevant again to play in Memphis. Kids knew he could get them noticed by the NBA, by any cost.

Having an NBA team in the city certainly doesn't hurt either.

I nominate this for dumb post of the week.

How many of Cal's best players actually came from Memphis?

Even removing '85 and '08, they've got a national finals appearance and multiple Elite Eights. Know your history.

Record, jerk.....you know, wins and losses. Yes, I know the Elite 8's, which I'm sure were completely on the up and up. Like I said, I'm not sure how the wins and losses stack up, but it's fairly close. And, they do have a losing record to UT. Reading comprehension.

You're the one babbling about UT's NCAA Tournament record compared to Memphis'. It's not my fault the accomplishments of the Tigers dwarf Tennessee's. I'm also sure Pearl's two trips to the Sweet 16 here, both with a guy whose transcript was so questionable that Jim Calhoun, Kelvin Sampson, and Tim Floyd all took a pass on him, were pristine in nature.

He can be a decent spot-up shooter for Memphis. However, his release is horribly slow, and his overall quickness isn't anything to write home about.

That said, I still feel he can be a great role player and hit some clutch shots eventually. Nice land for Memphis.

It looked to me that he handled the ball pretty well also . Just have to wait and see I guess .

Good call sir.

Thanks but what do I know? I am just a Pearl hater... nevermind my silly assertion that Pearl needs to put a heavy focus on the frontcourt, too. Jesus, that emain sure doesn't know what he is talking about.
