I would trade McHale for Duncan.

I wouldn't. Duncan was a center and his game showed it. Liability at the line. Great player, but McHale could score from anywhere, any time. He was overshadowed because of Bird, but the offense ran through him.

Hard to argue with that especially when I'm too young to really remember.

The one thing I like about Duncan though is he played against a very tough western conference and was the man on his teams where McHale had Bird, Parrish, DJ and others.

Duncan and Dirk over Durant?

Barkley or Dirk over McHale is crazy talk. There is a good argument for Duncan, but the other two?

They were better.

You going to tell all of us that McHale was a better shooter than Dirk?

You might be the only person to say Dirk was better than McHale. Dirk has more range but McHale's footwork and moves in the post are as good as it gets.

He shot the ball similarly to Dirk from everywhere but the 3, where he didn't shoot. But, he was a far better scorer from the paint and it isn't remotely close. He was as good in the paint as anyone ever. OBTW, he was about 42765 times better defender and close to that as a rebounder. Nowitzki doesn't belong in a power forward conversation with McHale.

Barkley might, but I don't think you'll find many that would start Barkley over McHale at the 4.

I am somewhat shocked at the overall lack of Bernard King in everyone's All Time Lists. Not trying to be a homer, but Bernard would definitely be on my list. The man could score anytime he wanted against anyone. No way I leave him off my lists.

I'd also take McHale over Dirk without so much as a flinch. No comparison.

My All time List:
Jordan
Hakeem (in his prime)
Bernard
Russell
Bird
Magic
Erving
Kobe

King's injuries and subsequent longevity issue are the reasons he doesn't make many lists. Dude was the quickest shooter I've ever seen.

I was just talking on the offensive side of the ball...defensively he is not in the same league...but on the offensive side of the ball I would take Dirk, he may not play your prototypical game for a 4 but that is what he is listed as.

Ray Allen has the quickest release that I have ever seen...it's a blur when he comes off of a heavily guarded screen...he always manages to get off a decent shot.

He's not quick like BKing. Dude was an incredible scorer.
