Chizik says Vols can win the game

Chizik’s reasoning for UT having a chance at victory on The Plains centers around pressure being on Auburn after losing to LSU and Mississippi State this season.
“Tennessee has a chance at Auburn,” the national championship head coach said. “Auburn is reeling a little bit right now and the pressure is on.”

I find this to be the complete opposite Auburn needs a good showing to keep their season from falling apart. They will be ready and not overlooking us.

In other news, Vegas just moved the spread to 30.5.

Thanks for your input Gene.
is that for real? on the spread being moved? no way that much money came in on Auburn that fast to move it 11 points in a day. or are they taking that Flowers injurty that seriously? lol

Fixed it. IF it did move that much I would probably drop five hundred on the Vols to cover.

Vols are bad and they aren't winning but I dont see them losing by 30 to Auburn.

I agree with you. My thought Saturday was "oh great, they lost again now they will be more focused on winning the UT game".

that's a very optimistic view from an auburn standpoint. they struggled against USM, lost to LSU and MSU. they've not found any real offensive identity much less consistency. safe to say their vaunted DL has not lived up to the hype.

that fan base is really disappointed in how this season is going, they see the warts, just like we did in 2016 when we faltered out the gate against App St., and continued to struggle to start games.

and had it not been for the comeback against FL and the miraculous ending against UGA, i think it's safe to say how 2016 ended is about how many of us thought it would, given how we played...we didn't pass the eye test, despite the results.

well, Auburn hasn't gotten the results, save teh UW game. and they don't pass the eye test.

i still think Auburn has enough on the rosterto win the game against us, but i don't think they suddenly "find it" and look like something they've not shown to be so far this season.

i think this is a 10 points or less game, Auburn wins, but doesn't do anything to change the feeling of dread coming later on the schedule.

and if it starts off well for us....and i think it needs to...that could be what opens the door for what would be huge win for us, and a demoralizing loss for them.

bottom line, we'll need some help from Auburn to beat Auburn. if they don't, and we don't throw up all over ourselves, i'll say 24-16 Auburn.

curious as to where it finally settles. i would expect it to come down somemore to be honest.
Probably somewhere in the 14 range would be my guess. Auburn is in some serious trouble, the just gave Gus that raise and extension to get less than mediocre results on the field. I mean lets be real, MSU is not a world beater by any means and they demoralized Auburn Saturday.

agreed. and let's not forget, LSU was supposed to be like, at best, 4th in the West. they're probably 2nd....having already passed Auburn. aTm may wind up ahead of Auburn. MSU too. i mean look at Auburns schedule the rest of the way...TN Saturday, Ole Miss, aTm, GA, Liberty, Bama.

i mean...the wheels could literally come off...there's at least 2, maybe more, losses in there. and if they lose to us..............yikes.

If Auburn losses to us then the Gus bus will be headed out of town Sunday

ODU beat Virginia Tech, so most any outcome is possible. Statistically speaking Tennessee has a 12-15 percent chance to win per most ranking sites I've seen. Probably not a bad probability and certainly higher than ODU's change against Va Tech. Still I'd be far more likely to take the 85 percent chance of something happening than the 15 percent chance.

Just trying to get folks woke up to pump up viewership, that's all. We just need to pack it in next two weeks...sit JG, Chandler. Play Chryst, Banks, Johnson. Be rested and ready for USCjr.
