Spin it however it makes you feel good. My point stands. The highspeed gimmick offense will not hold up with a power football conference. And Kelly is not coming to coach the Vols.

In my opinion, you only get one shot at hiring guys like Chip, Meyer, Harbaugh, Saban etc. Even if Butch had gone 10-2 this season, I would have taken a shot at Chip. He is that big of a name (I would put a huge buyout for him leaving though). Having said that, I know TN Administration will never have guts to do that.

People are laughing about Tennessee hiring Chip Kelly as OC but it wouldn't surprise me one bit to watch Saban hire him as OC.

Oregon was consistently top 5 in the nation in rushing. What are you talking about?

Florida gets coaches that go undefeated at small schools. Tennessee gets coaches that either have losing records or that have co-co-co conference titles and no big bowl game appearances.

You're a funny cat. Kelly is not coming to live in Knoxville and be an OC at UT. The current coach is not getting fired this year.It has nothing to do with not wanting him it is simply an unrealistic dream. He will probably remain in the NFL as an OC.

You think he will get an IC gig? His offense hasnt good good and despite a couple of good seasons in Philly, hasnt achieved anything?
I also dont see a guy like him playing 2nd fiddle anymore. I think ge will end up back in college but dont know where, but someone will hire him

A NC? Sure. Tulane claimed one (ours). :) I'm not on record saying Kelly's COACHING wouldn't work here. But he's a hermit with no personal skills so you don't IMPROVE there. And compared to Butch he sucks at recruiting, so he's a downgrade there. Just don't see the homerun...not even INSIDE the park. :)

Kelly is also a superior strategist by a mile. Kelly would just let assistants recruit like he did at Oregon.
