China Thread

Very bad news for free speech in Hong Kong:
writing was on the wall with Hong Kong from the first election China interfered with. once only party approved candidates were on the ballot it was game over. Then the Chinese used Covid to really get a stranglehold on that city.

Which is a shame. It's an awesome city.

Getting dicey.

The alliance we formed with the Japs and Australia is gonna be the only hope of keeping China from dominating the Pacific and bullying everyone. Cant build submarines and aircraft fast enough IMO. After what Japan did to China in WW2 with the Rape of Nanking etc, Japan has every reason to be scared of the ChiComs and is wise to build a formidable military.

I know part of the Japs unconditional surrender to us in WW2 was them agreeing to never have more than a "defense force" military without offensive or global capabilities. We are wise to rethink those restrictions IMO. I don't know the details today, but if/when things get ugly over there we will need their help.

Don't forget south Korea. They have a rather large army on the mainland and are part of our checking force too. Or were, Trump's tariff schedule will unfortunately probably make these allies more hesitant to step in to our aid in any future conflict.

AI - Panama's Supreme Court ruled on
January 29, 2026, that the port concessions held by a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based CK Hutchison Holdings are unconstitutional.
This major legal blow effectively strips the company of its rights to operate the Balboa (Pacific) and Cristóbal (Atlantic) port terminals at either end of the Panama Canal.

Key Details of the Ruling
  • Irregularities Found: The decision followed an audit by Panama's comptroller, which alleged that the 2021 extension of the 25-year concession was granted improperly and resulted in significant lost tax revenue for the state.
  • Geopolitical Impact: The ruling is widely viewed as a major victory for the Trump administration, which has prioritized curbing Chinese influence over the strategic waterway. Secretary of State Marco Rubio had previously designated the port operations as a national security concern.

Brother-sister IED Terror Plot rocks America's Iran war nerve center as disturbing China link emerges

A Chinese brother and sister have been charged over a chilling IED plot targeting a US Air Force base that serves as a nerve center for America's war with Iran.

A figure appearing in silhouette with a distorted voice claimed responsibility in a video sent to the Tampa Bay Times on Monday, warning that a bomb planted near the base on March 10 had failed to detonate but that 'we have taken actions to rectify this.'

'We have a newly improved design that we plan to use in the upcoming days,' the speaker said, adding the device had been planted 'in opposition to the war in Iran by the Epstein pedophiles of the US government.'

Alen Zheng, 20, and Ann Mary Zheng, 27, were charged Wednesday in separate federal indictments after the explosive device was found outside a gate at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa on March 16.

The sister is in custody; the brother has fled to China, FBI director Kash Patel said.

"Diversity is our strength" - Liberals

Yet another example of why we shouldn't allow people from places that hate the US to come into our country. China steals all of our intellectual property already, now they have terrorists too. Thats a new level of stupid. Wonder if China will send the brother back here to face charges? Just kidding. No way in Hades that happens.
