The idea of going out and throwing big money at proven coaches (Franklin, Malzahn, Campbell, ect) was a strategy that would have worked back when we hired Dooley and then Butch. But we are so far down right and in such a mess that mantra isn’t going to work. Established coaches do not want to come here. We suck and have for 13 years now. And we might be about to get walloped with sanctions. The up and comer or coordinator route, at least to me, seems like the only route we can go right now. It is what it is. I suggest stop stressing over it. Enjoy other aspects of your life.

Same **** just a different year. We did this crap with Dooley, Butch was decent, then we did this same crap with Pruitt, now we are doing it all over again. Our football program is around the same level as Vandy and Kentucky. We are no different now so I expect nothing less than a garbage hire

I agree. I think UNC did a great job with Mac Brown. By no means whatsoever am I advocating for Phil, but that recipe could work well for us. Granted, I don't see the guy out there. Maybe White is doing a great job throwing everyone off and has an outside of the box home run in store for us. Gotta hope

If it’s Heupel, it really could be worse. Did anybody actually think that we were going to hire Freeze or Kiffin based on the “integrity” issue? And did anybody actually think we’d get another big name, or at least established head coach? Y’all, we are a dumpster fire and it’s going to take a few years to get back to where we need to be, if ever. If it’s Heupel or whoever, support the guy. What if he’s here 25 years and wins a title or two? We’ll never know if we Schiano the guy, like a few on here have already suggested. Come on.

Am I missing something? All I see is a string of failure. His UCF teams have steadily declined...he was fired from being an OC for sucking...and he hasn't done much else.
