Seriously, you are attributing a tweet from some film critic to all liberals.

I've come to the conclusion that you are a fun little troll because there is no way you're this stupid.

well prick. your idiot party has been saying this BS since the 80's. so if anyone is stupid, it would be you. you fools accuse gop of poisoning water, killing old folks, etc..

it's quite obvious you're conclusions are as ignorant as the party you worship.

My god, are the snowflakes awful sensitive.

Joevol, you have to be the biggest pansy on this entire forum.

It's one thing to whine. We all whine.

It's quite another, however, to whine about useless, stupid nonsense like you do.

LOL. it's all one can do.

Holy ****. I'm cringing so hard at the irony in this post...

You have an avatar of some useless celebrity nearly grabbing his crotch.

In some circles that may mean business, but in mine, it most certainly does not.

So let me get this straight.

Fox news finds the most extreme commentary from the most fringe element, and says "this is what her foes are saying."

It gets posted to Drudge, or the like.

You then link it here, and submit that this is what ALL of her opponents think.

You then mock that as representative of the whole.

Now could it be that Fox, then Drudge, then you, are trying to distract away from all of the mainstream, well reasoned, and thoughtful concerns about her by holding up the most extreme and attacking that? So you can ignore the legitimate worries about her complete ineptitude?

You're all very easy to read. Just the same naive, sky is falling bunch. What have been your protest signs?

The sky is falling. Trump has been spouting off about voter fraud, bad dudes, secret terrorist attacks etc and I think the sky is falling. Look in the mirror.

And this was somehow different than the media portrayal of fringe right elements during the election pledging support for Trump?

Ok then - the mainstream Democratic criticism of her seems to be she can't do the job because 1) she's rich and 2) she and her family didn't go to public schools. During the confirmation hearing, Bernie Sanders' first line of attack against her was that she was wealthy, as if that automatically disqualified her.

But let's be honest...would Dems oppose the nomination of a person with identical qualifications/background if they were a big defender of teacher's unions? Of course they would.

It's Shia Labeouf, during his "motivational" speech on "Do It." Well worth a YouTube watch for anyone with a sense of humor.

He has become a caricature of sorts (he's also a Leftist nutjob), much like yourself.

DeVos foes now claiming her policies could 'kill children,' ruin public schools | Fox News

you whack marxist libs used to say that children will starve is a gop is elected. now children will commit suicide or just get killed.

there is no depth to low that the marxist party will stoop. it is truly amazing.

Richard Lawson? Never heard of him. One idiot says something stupid and the opinion is attributed to "foes" so you guys can rub one out to how dumb all liberals are.

I would say the majority of liberals are over-reacting to DeVos. There are plenty of valid critiques of liberals that you can choose from, but you find the most extreme opinion possible and then go nuts. You're an extremist in your views of the opposition.

How many of those senators on the committee went to private school? How many of their kids go to private school? If that's the qualification what are they doing there? And why do you need to attend a public school to know how to fix them? Most of these people are 30+ years removed from primary school, what insights could they have that are current or relevant?

I don't think the sky is falling. I don't tolerate stupidity and will point out as such.

The previous Secretary of Education did have experience (he was the CEO of the Chicago Public School system, which is either an asset or a liability given your political persuasion) but he himself had only ever attended private schools (University of Chicago Lab Schools and Harvard) and even took a closed Chicago public school and re-opened it as a charter school (which the unions also hate).

But since he was a Democrat and generally supported the status quo, they were OK with him, naturally.

I agree with this generally but there are at least a half dozen examples in that article of crazy reactions. Lawson is not alone in publicly going bonkers over the nomination (and now confirmation).

9 out of 10 dissenting Democrats could not tell you who the last Secretary of Education was. Yeah, go ahead and Google it.

Feel free to point it out when the left does it, I agree with your criticism.

I hope you will also acknowledge when the right does it, as here. GV, you have at least grudgingly admitted you think this was a pretty poor pick. There are lots of good reasons to oppose her, and not all of them require invoking the usual suspect issues, i.e. segregation, church and state, etc.

Just the fact that she does not understand basic principles of the education system and its management are enough. I mean, first day, she is going to have some kind of briefing on the main issues being worked on by the department, and she is literally going to have NO IDEA what they are talking about.

You've hit the Catch 22 inherent in reform of these massive government bureaucracies.

In most cases, people who want to reform them and have good ideas about reforming them are from outside the system and can easily be attacked as being inexperienced. In fact, they probably are inexperienced and might have a difficult time understanding the technical aspects of the job.

But to have experience, you have to have worked in the system, and most people in the system like the status quo.

It depends on the level of "reform."

If its particular statistical results for certain type of measures of proficiency, she will be clueless. I don't personally see how she can even function in an environment which is based on adopting the most reliable measures and making the most progress in that context.

If you mean reform as in, "We are privatizing the shlt out of all of this education stuff now, so figure out how we overnight undo 70 years of institution," sure, she can do that. Good luck with that.
