Chick-fil-A Bowl Reprsenative At Game

And according to the most recent projections I've seen, we'd be looking at NC St in Nashville or Tulsa in Memphis. Not sure I'd like NC St in a bowl then open with them next season. Then again I certainly won't want to be in Memphis for a bowl game either. Geez.

Me either. Still, if we get bowl eligible, I don't see any way the MCB would pass us over in favor of Vandy or Miss. St. Last year's MCB had the highest attendance in the history of the bowl, and I'm pretty sure it was by a huge margin over the previous attendance record.

Chick-fil-A represenative at last nights game plus represenative's from Liberty Bowl and Music City Bowl,I hope the Vols beat Kentucky and go to Atlanta !!I will go to game if its Music City Bowl.Go Vols, beat the Wildcats!

Too many teams ahead of us...they likely were just there to look at giving vandy some consideration were they to finish 7-5

No. It's specifically outlawed by the BCS that 3 teams from the same conference can be selected to BCS bowls. One deserving SEC team is going to get left out.

They can but it's a very weird, unlikely rule

No more than two teams from any one conference may receive berths in BCS games unless two non-champions from a BCS conference finish as the top two teams in the final BCS standings, in which case they will meet in the National Title Game while their conference champion will play in their conference's BCS bowl game.

I'll take the MCB over the Chick-fil-a Bowl this year. I'd rather match up with someone from the NC St, Miami, Wake or UNC group and have a shot at winning in Nashville as opposed to face the VT/Clemson loser and go down to ATL knowing we're going to get blown out in the GA Dome for about the 50th consecutive time. The CFA bowl is a good time to attend, but most years its a horrible matchup for the SEC team.

So basically all 3 teams would have to finish in the top 4, correct? The best chance that happens is if Arkansas beats LSU this weekend. Otherwise, I don't see a 2 loss Arky team ending up the top 4.

I think I copied and posted the wrong part of the rule originally, read what I changed it to a short while ago

So, If I read that correctly, the only way that would happen is if LSU beats Arkansas, GA beats LSU in the SEC Champ game, and LSU stays in the top 2 of the BCS Standings. That would have LSU-Bama in the Nat Championship and GA in the Sugar....is that correct? HIGHLY unlikely I know:)

I'm sure Chick-fil-A was there for the slim chance of Vandy getting to 7 wins. I don't see a 6 win team in the Chick-fil-A. Isn't it right behind the outback bowl in picking its team?

Either the CFA Bowl or the Gator Bowl select after the Outback Bowl. I'm pretty sure it's the CFA, but not 100%.

That or Arky beats LSU, LSU falls to 2-3-4, Arky jumps up to 1-2, whoever plays in the SEC Championship loses to UGA, Ok St loses to OU (might not be needed but still), UGA goes to the sugar and whoever's left on top out of LSU/Arky/Bama plays in the NC

I was listening to local sports talk radio describe the end of the Miami game on the way back home from the golf course last evening. The topic at hand is should Miami even accept a bowl invitation and would the fans travel to a meaningless bowl?

This is funny on several accounts. First, the fans don't travel to home games down here! Second, what kind of message does that send to the players especially the Seniors? Sure, the Sr. class for the Canes was supposed to be one of the best classes in history and they've clearly under-achieved. So what?

I would love a UT/ Miami match-up in Nashville!
