Man, there sure is a lot of doom and gloom about playing T. A.M. But I am confident that we are gonna beat those people first, then on to Bama!

Go Vols!

I am SO happy we have a chance to be 6-0. Realistically I think the end of the season will be more like 10-2. Do I have faith they CAN win Saturday, yes! Do I think they WILL, well not really. I REALLY want them to prove me wrong though. I'm still in shock they are 5-0 lol

I believe 10-2, with losses to A&M and Bama would still be good enough to get us to the SECC game. IMHO, that is what was expected of this team pre-season. Anymore and it's a bonus.

Yep, at this point debby downers need to go crawl in a hole because you are not helping us right now. You can come back out after two weeks. We need tunnel vision single minded laser focus on our goal. Push A&M out of the way and get to alasalami.

I get the feeling that some are happier when we are struggling.
It's been a while and they don't know how to act with prosperity !

Enjoy the ride !

Lots of people think this is a favorable match up for A&M because of their weapons on O & Pass rush on D and I agree but if we play well, we have many weapons on both sides of the ball to combat the aggies.

Maybe we're reading different threads, I don't know. But I sure don't see any doom and gloom about the upcoming game. I see a lot of excitement, a good strong pinch of respect for what's sure to be a close game, but no doom or gloom. Closest thing I found to that was little anxiety over Hurd's status, that's about it.

Seems mostly like a strawman argument to me.

Agree, except that before the season, it seemed that the expected losses were at UGA and Bama at home. (According to the ESPN FPI or whatever) Don't think anyone say A&M being this complete of a team before the season started.

What is your opinion on the Hurd Situation, JP? I think he will play. Concussion protocol could keep him out, but Hurd strikes me as the type that you would have to cut off a leg to keep him from playing.

I'm plenty excited. And just happy to be 5-0. Doesn't mean immediately after the game if we lose I won't get extremely sad and heartbroken. That's just the life of a Vol fan.

I'm not expecting us to win. I'm hopeful though. Just too many injuries and a tough place to play, and our slow starts in almost every game will bite us in the ass eventually.

However, if we do lose, I'll probably be upset for a little bit, lock myself in my room, and then be good to go on Monday for Bama week :)

It's just hard to be this close to a playoff team and NOT be a little upset if we were to lose. I'm a positive person, but I don't just settle for good. I want to be great!

Nerve cells and being tough have nothing in common.

They stopped that, on the field, nonsensical thinking, with the concussion protocol.

I can't for the life of me figure out why people are so scared of this team.

Are they a good team? Somewhere between maybe and probably.

Are we a good team? Somewhere between maybe and probably.

The difference is, we've been tested to the max all year. Two of our biggest rivals giving us a fight, a decade long streak on the line, the largest audience in footballl history, we've played through and overcome all of it.

We have forgotten how to be winners as a fanbase.

Dang you, Tusker, for making me give you a like with your reasonable post.

Take it and scramble back to your hell, crimson imp!

It's not easy being the voice of reason. But a simple 'like' here and there, makes it all worth the effort.

Hurd's helmet wasn't even taken away. No trainers attended to him and he was sprinting and jumping on celebration piles after the game. That coupled with the multitude of different reports, makes me think that after Hurd lolly-gagged into the endzone and got blasted and fumbled that Butch yelled at him and Jalen barked back. Butch can't tell the media that he got into a yelling match with his players, so this is what we get.

According to Vol74, Deer Park, ad Travis Stephens, Hurd is actually hurt. I don't see any reason while all 3 would be lying. But that debate is already very heated over in the Hurd.

Well then why is the head coach saying something totally different? I'm not saying those guys are wrong, but if it is a concussion why would the coach not just say that?

Man, idk, Dodger. I'm so confused by all the contradictory information that I don't know what to think. I agree with you about Jalen's toughness and determination. On the other hand, if he can't convince the doc he's not showing any concussion symptoms, they won't even let him suit up.

I hope we have him with the fellows on the field. But if not, we still have Alvin and some very talented younger guys eager to prove themselves in a big way. Don't you think?
