For the LSU game - fans are to wear all ORANGE and have WHITE Rally Towels. We have matching t-shirts and towels for this event and should be posting them next week! The STORM OF ORANGE is coming NOV 18! :dance2::dance2::dance2:

I want to see the dang game and not a bunch of freaking towels waving around. Hate the idea. Love charities but keep your towels and shakers. Stand up for all I care but towels waving is just stupid and blocks viewing and gets you knocked in the head. Give UT 4900 to watch a towel.

I would rather all of our fans to wear Orange to every game. We used to have that "sea of orange" at Neyland.
But now we have people who wear white, gray, black, LV light blue. But, hey, the school makes money selling those "alternate" colors to our fans.

I think our coaches ought to adopt the baseball rule that says coaches also have to wear uniforms.

I think just Orange towels. It stands out more. I hate tge Bulldogs but i do love how those red pompoms stand out in a big game.

We tried to get Orange towels but they color was way off and custom matched colors priced them out of reach. God forbid we get the wrong color orange! We chose the true TENNESSEE Orange High Quality t-shirts and velour towels using color matched orange screen printing. Both will match - nothing but the best for the VOLS! GET READY - THE STORM OF ORANGE IS COMING!

I'll take 7 of each. Where do I send the money?

Any VOLume discount? I know 30 people that would want 1 of each.

We will have purchase locations and purchase links set up very soon. There's a lot of checks and balances we have to go through before posting. If all goes well - may announce next week! We are getting requests from across the nation for these. This is going to be bigger than Checker Neyland! Just imagine the environment inside the stadium as the Neyland Effect is raised to whole new level of crazy!

Yep. I can just hear the opponents now. "OH NO GUYS!! THEY ARE WAVING TOWELS AT US!!"

I don't care what anyone says - a stadium full of rally towels with a fired up fan base and crazy loud noise will get in our opponents head! We're not waving a towel - we're intimidating the other team. This would totally bring PANDEMONIUM to Neyland Stadium. The team, the recruits, the university and the television audience would go crazy about it. We need to do BIG things that draw attention to TENNESSEE FOOTBALL - not only sit and yell. When other fan bases and schools do things like this they get publicity - so should the VOLNATION and TENNESSEE! :loco::loco::loco:

^ This. If I'm at a sporting event, I'm there to enjoy the game...it's admirable to try and do something to support a worthy cause but if it gets in the way of actually watching the game, I'm not interested.

I apologize ahead of time if someone has already mentioned this idea. On the other hand if nobody has mentioned this idea what does everyone think about issuing orange and white towels to everyone in Checkerboard Neyland?

Let the STORM begin - Rally Towels are on their way!:rock: Trying to upload rally towel and t-shirt images for the Shake Neyland Storm of Orange game Nov 18 against LSU. How do I get them uploaded?

A legitimate physics question: How much quieter will Neyland be with towels?

In decibels, how much will towels waving in the air absorb fans' yelling before it gets to the field?

There will also be a net less noise generated. Every fan waving a towel is not clapping--which is the loudest, sustainable-over-four-quarters noisemaker fans possess. That's why NFL towel waving began (in Denver, actually) and continues most effectively in outdoor, cold weather stadiums--everyone has gloves on, so their clapping is already muted!

When the Saints (twice) tried to break the record for loudest indoor stadium, they handed out 75,000 towels. They failed both times.

Seriously--towel waving decreases the amount of fan noise heard on the field, and noise is the only home field advantage we fans can generate.

Visually (according to studies made on basketball arenas and free throw shooting), only if you have fans waving objects in the same direction simultaneously is there disruption. In a football stadium, you could only use it in field goal situations since it would be just as disruptive to our guys as theirs.

C'mon Volnation. Let's tap into our inner Oak Ridge and add some science to our passion--instead of muffling it.

Checker Neyland is by far the coolest visual in college sports. I love it! It shows UNITY. It pumps up the players and the crowd and they feed off each other. It brings energy and emotion to the fore front. These are college kids so emotion has a lot to do with how the game is played.
