Checkerboard Neyland for Florida game - checkerneyland.com

What would be cool in addition to everyone wearing the right color would be for the university to put an orange or white shaker on the seat. It would create a rocking checkerboard scene and take this to the next level.

My son went to yesterday's game in Athens and they placed a red shaker on every seat.

I may be a Jimmy (just got home from church) but I saw Butch was behind this now. It is happening. I'll be wearing ORANGE. They need to put it in the paper and on the news... Most people who have bought tickets around Knoxville probably follow one, and most of us who don't live there keep up with the VOLS on line, I would think.

I hope we're able to pull this off. I'm worried the white sections won't have everyone wearing white though.

Shared on Facebook. Hopefully everyone else is doing the same. It will not look good if it is half-assed.

If Ut is really behind this, they should send out emails to season ticket holders and the people that bought the three game packs.

Or maybe get everyone to join VolNation?

I just sent out an email to those I know who have season tickets with the link and told them to pass the word. My 4 in YY9 and 4 in QQ will be in proper attire.

Seat-by-Seat

Pretty sure UT sports website has a story and link to checkerneyland on their homepage. They should do everything in the university's power to make sure this happens

We took a ****ing pep band to Athens cause of our cheapness . Like Famous Dave is gonna spring for 100,000 shakers, much less t shirts.

As winning one of these difficult games is critical to attain a 6th win to make us bowl eligible, Dave better think long and hard about what being in a bowl game will buy us. A 102,000 shakers sounds like a good investment.
In fact he better stomp his feet and light a match to help us get a win!

Long time lurker, first time poster.

This is my concern. I love the idea, but the short notice and noon kickoff makes me think it will be half-assed. If UT sent notices, with color requirement, directly to season ticket holders, or provided shirts to at least the entire lower bowl, I think the chances for a decent look would be pretty good.

Short notice????? I would say the majority of people already know because of social media.

People buying from scalpers need to have an orange and a white shirt.

Apparently, the UT Athletic Dept. is actively encouraging efforts to checkerboard Neyland in orange and white for the Florida game. It is currently the lead story on their website (http://www.utsports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/092814aaa.html):

“Let's show the world why Tennessee has the best fans by following the color code and wearing your orange or white on Saturday for the Vols game with Florida.

Visit CHECKERNEYLAND.com and enter your section/row/seat number as it appears on your ticket.

◾ For Terrace ticket holders, please enter your terrace number: Ter1, Ter2, Ter3, etc. You do not need to enter a row or seat location.

◾ For East and West Club ticket holders, please enter your club with the respective number: EC1, EC2, WC1, WC2, etc. You do not need to enter a row or seat location.

◾ Fans with a wheelchair designated ticket should enter WC for the row in their section.

◾ UT students can enter their seat as normal: section/row/seat number.”

If we can pull it off, it should make for a truly electric gameday environment.
