They always have 2-3 games a year where they don’t play to their own standard. They struggled against ole miss, UK, and GTech last year. There's little doubt the crowd will be amongst the loudest Neyland has ever witnessed. I really believe we have a shot to pull the upset. Catching UGA early will work to our benefit. They are more talented, but they have a ton of production to replace. I believe our Defense is good enough to keep us in it for 4 quarters so you never know.
If we do pull it off expect some goalposts to be at the bottom of the TN River Sat night
There aren't a lot of people in Tennessee who don't have some Tennessee gear in both orange and white. At least that was my observation when I lived there. Hell, I live in Florida now and I have 5 football jerseys, including a number 16 jersey I got in 1996 before they could put names on them, a baseball jersey, two Columbia fishing shirts that I got at the Vol store on campus, a long sleeved Tennessee football t-shirt, and a wallet with a big T on it. I don't think they have any trouble getting the fans to wear orange or white gear. How is this done so well? Does Tenn. hand out 110,000 T shirts as people walk in?

Yup, this game has all signs of a low scoring Rock Fight. Our defense could be as good as last years. It may not have any superstars but loaded with talented depth especially on the D Line. They will keep us in the game.Agreed. Stockton will without a doubt be in the middle of the most hostile and loud environment that he’s experienced. The crowd could be a huge factor in this game.
Can see what u are saying here …. But it is Tennessee biggest home game this year by far …. Think it wall be a good game dawg…. Look for a low scoring game…. Since both teams will be better on the defensive side of the ball …Let me say that I honestly believe that the way you guys checker Neyland is among the coolest game day fan participation happenings in college sports. Not only does it show relentless spirit and look bada$$, it’s also quite impressive how precise you guys are with it.
Having said this, (and those of you familiar with me know that what I’m about to say isn’t in the slightest way meant in an arrogant way) I truly don’t think checkering Neyland for the UGA game was a smart move.
The reason I believe this is bc I think there are several things in this game that could benefit or maybe work in TN’s favor. You are playing a GA team with an inexperienced QB that will be starting in his first SEC game with an also inexperienced O-line playing together in their first SEC game. Oh yeah, and it’s going to be in Knoxville in front of 100,000+ screaming Vols. To say it will be loud and nerve racking for these individuals is a massive understatement. All of this is wonderful for TN and honestly makes me quite worried.
So why in the world would you give this GA team any added incentive to be locked in and play well together? Why would you want to give them even the slightest sense that they are being slighted or disrespected? Much less the entire stadium just screaming that we don’t respect you?
Now obviously that isn’t what checkering Neyland is really about or meant to do, but you’re in denial if you think that CKS isn’t going to use this in a very big way. This news had his wheels turning the second he heard it.
I’m still very concerned about this game as I’ve stated on other threads. My point is just, why would you do this when you have GA, or at least their offense, in such a potentially very tough situation?
I’m not saying it won’t work out for TN, I just don’t think it was the best of ideas for this particular game.
You'll be bashing the Vols as soon as it suits you,
You have a long established pattern going back to Butch of making predictions and then bashing the team, players, program when it doesn't work out. Then there was that time you forgot to switch from your Nationdom alt, which was hilarious.I'm pretty sure I was the only person last year not losing it after we lost to Arkansas. I even predicted we would beat Florida and Alabama in the following weeks while most had already given up. So when exactly did this bashing after we lose start?

EDIT: here it is Tennessee has the #2 or #3 team in the SEC, post 30, 61, 64, 72 and 76.
