This is a HORRIBLE mistake, I am certainly less confident for this game now.

I hate to break it to most of you that are against the idea, but we've lost a hell of a lot more games the past five years when we didn't checker the stadium than when we have... :zeitung_lesen:

Just say, "NO!"

Less than 2% of the attendance voted for FL. Just less voted for 'Bama. Therefore, 96+% did not vote to checker Neyland at all.

I don't have real verifiable numbers, but from the eye test over the past 20 years or so, Florida usually only requests and brings 5000. Bama requests their full allotment of 10,000. But we know that they finds a lot more on the secondary market.
They usually have 15,000 or more in our house, unfortunately.

On the way to the game last year I walked my Gator buddy through the TN tailgate site and he asked me "What is all this checkerboard stuff for?" and I said "To piss you off". They absolutely hate it. And what have they got?...Two Bits.

This. It's certainly different on tv, but if you've ever experienced it in the stadium, epic is the only word to describe it, IMO. All these "bad luck" and superstition whiners and just suck it up and deal.

Should have done the VT game instead. NASCAR has a connection to Checkerboards, just can't remember what it is?

Yeah the whole superstition thing is so stupid. We aren't the ones playing the actual game.

Plus I think it is helpful for media attention and recruiting

Neyland stadium should be packed with ORANGE every single home game... hell call it an orange out if you'd like. Much more intimidating and it's what we are known for... GBFO.
