Checkerboard Florida

Maybe I am missing something, but how do you find out what color your section is? It seems to only be a one page website with nothing else to click other than the vote results on the home page. I am a new season ticket holder this year. Thanks

This again? I would rather we go pound their arse on the field and dispense with the theatrics. Just win.

Against Alabama would have been nice, but it would be nicer to get a W in one of these things. I think we can beat Alabama, but I'm more confident against Florida.

How can you not love this? Forget superstition, weren't we win-less in the smokey greys until last year too?

This will be the ultimate streak buster game.

They will eventually put out a page where you put your section information and they tell you what color to wear.

I would have preferred Alabama.

We already did this with Florida 2 years ago. We should have done Alabama this time.

Posted this in another thread, but there would be a lot more Crimson mixed in that checkerboard than there will be blue against Florida. It will look better for the Florida game, I promise you.

Just gonna post the same thing. Those idiots would do their best to mess it up.

The fans have nothing to do with the losses we suffered during those games.

Nope...You are correct...But you don't think it helped the other team to get motivated to ruin such a festive day?...Florida loves playing the villain in such cases...I would rather us go out there and just knock their teeth out and beat them to a bloody pulp without all the gimmicks that usually do not work in our favor.

I would have liked to see the Bama game as well, but as mentioned above there would be much more Crimson mixed in. Florida is a must win and I think the fan base and players will enjoy the spectacle 👍🏽

You sure? A handful of posters on here plus Gary Danielson say our fanbase just hasn't done its part, nay, just isn't ready to win big. Why, some think we fans pulling like crazy for the team, filling up Neyland and buying Nike gear at record rates is actually keeping the team down. Haven't you heard?

No need for any gimmicks to pump the crowd, we just need about 30,000 lazy ass fans to stand up and raise some hell.

The checkerboarding looks cool and is a real sight to see live. I don't understand why this causes people such frustration - it's just fun for the fans. And I'm a serious stickler about keeping traditions too - I'm still honked about the new shade of orange versus the older, better shade of orange. (It's not PMS 151, I don't care what anyone tells me). I just don't see this taking away from the atmosphere (like piped in music would take away from the atmosphere, and the band, for example).

Seriously, this checkerboard thing doesn't bother me one bit. It's fun. It looks cool. It's a good thing. Well, unless you have to wear white, then it's a bit boring but, the sacrifices we make to be cool.

Methinks that this should be the dress code for every home game. Neyland looks absolutely beautiful in checkerboard.

I wouldn't call it a gimmick, heck this is Tennessee Football! checkerboard, shirtless, all black, all grey, 3rd Down for what, all white........red, white and blue, I just love that 104K fans are going to be screaming their lungs out and causing havoc for every team that walks in the Neyland.........We come to be us, they come to beat us! Don't take the fun out of watching sports live or on TV. This is what SEC Fans do, we support the school and team......they other schools are jealous because we love UT Sports and the Vols are on their way back and it eats them up..........Go Big Orange!!!

Everyone has an opinion to do it or not....who cares! It doesn't make you right over the other guy. Bottom line is Butch said it looks good for the recruits having the fan base do it. Thats all I care about. There will be a large contingency of recruits at the Gator game. Yes wins bring recruits but you have to admit that it does look good and if that helps push a guy over the top seeing all that orange and white IM IN! GBO
