Checker Neyland for our FUTURE! (Georgia game)

If you honestly think checkering the stadium will help with recruiting your wrong...Very wrong...Making the stadium look pretty while we are getting beat down by 40 doesn't really appeal to recruits very much.

It ABSOLUTELY effects recruiting.
Players are your best recruiters.... at 1-3 in a game we can’t win we bring this type of environment & energy to these kids, you better believe they will tell recruits about how we had their back in their toughest hour.

And man I think your forgetting what it was to be 18-22 years old. Man this type of an environment means the WORLD to these kids!

Don’t assume, that assumption is what gets tickets sold to and current tickets sold to Georgia fans!

We are going to checker it, show these guys we have their back with them fighting & we are going to have a party and be loud BECAUSE ITS OUR SCHOOL!!!

Quit assuming the worst and let’s start owning where we are at and show these young kids (that are most of our starters now!) we have their back, recruits backs & the national narrative about Tennessee is WRONG!!!

GBO, let’s party next Saturday day & night.

To hell with Georgia, let To’to’o hit them in the mouth!
This post is much better than most or your others.

This team does need some inspiration, to Checker Neyland is a great idea. It looks good and would make a statement that Vol fans aren’t going anywhere.
Don’t sell them short, an inspired group might perform better. With extra prep time, I like our chances.

It’s time to put a beat down on Ga.

No sir, WINNING means the world to these kids...If they can't see motivated players on the field exactly how do you think they feel if they are about to invest in this school for 4 years?...Every single kid on that field comes to college with stars in their eyes..Wanting to be a top NFL draft pick and if they do not see that players here are doing that why would they want to come here?...Serious question...I know your excited and all but do your best to try and remain realistic here.

You have miss understood what is going on and are taking the wrong mentality into where we actually are.

This is not an attempt to win a game with a atmosphere.

This is showing these kids on this team, most of them sophomores and freshman that we have their back and we are going to create a atmosphere for them to be PROUD OF!

Show these coaches that are having to start 14 freshman or sophomores because we were so bad when they got here.

And most importantly it’s having PRIDE & PASSION FOR YOUR SCHOOL! And no matter what, it’s our house & if anyone is getting loud in it..... IT’S US!

Not disagreeing with the winning aspect of your post, but there is literally no downside to checkering Neyland for the UGA game. Also there is no way to know what effect it would have on recruiting, if any.

Is your argument that we shouldn’t do it at all or that it just won’t have any effect on recruiting?

I'll bet being recruited by a WINNING team means the world to these kids, too....just saying

I wonder what the rest of the nation (sports channels) will have to say, if we checker the stadium, then get our (now annual) GA asskicking? There is too much there for the humorists to leave alone. As we all know UGA is going to Whoooop our butts, wouldn't it be better, Not to Draw Attention to It????

I think if Pruitt would just announce Maurer as starter, it would do alot to make Vol fans BELIEVE, and thus more tix would be sold to Vol fans.

This is a terrible idea. Having half the stadium kinda sorta look like the TN fans were trying to do the checkerboard thing will look terrible, especially when UGA does it better in the other half of the stadium. Never half-ass something because it just makes you look incompetent. If you cant full-ass it, DON'T DO IT! If it is possible for the rest of the nation to laugh even harder at us, they will.

"""Are you scared of them?"""", Are you referring to UGA? If "scared" equates to knowing we are going to get our asses kicked, then for you the answer would be yes. If you are referring to the Sports Commentators across the USA (your post is very unclear), am I scared of them, Yes in a way I am, their words are heard by millions, to include many potential recruits. No one wants to be laughed at, and no recruit wants to join a team, where he'll be laughed at. If being real, and looking at the long game is "squishy", then I'd say we need a lot more squish, and lot less ra-ra-ra-ra, ooooweeee, it has gotten us where we are today, BTW we are 1-3.

You’ve answered my question. That’s really pathetic dude. Scared of the diks in the media making fun of us for supporting our team during tough times. Who would actually look bad in that scenario? Don’t bother answering, as it’s my guess you’ll get it wrong.

You seem to have it wrong, dude, and may I add-It is pathetic! The only way our team is going to get better from these "tough times" as you put it, is going to be by recruiting good players, then supplying them with good coaching. If running off high quality players, those being recruited by other schools-you know- schools with winning programs-is your way of "Supporting our team", then we have a difference of opinion on how to support the team. I hope you don't bother answering, as I'm sure you'll get it wrong.

Good job of deflecting from the ACTUAL topic of to checker or not to checker Neyland. Typical when arguing with someone who has no argument.

Have a good evening

Talk about failing to respond to a straightforward position, AKA deflecting, one only need read the entire string. You too, have a good evening.

I feel like the people who are against this actually want the team and coaches to feel like unacceptable pieces of crap. And for what? They lack the football IQ right now to compete at a high level? My God, what horrible people who deserve our disdain! C’mon.

The season is a wash already so we literally have nothing to lose and only positives to gain. Recruits would love it, the team would love it, the media for the most part would respect our VOL PASSION.

I'm 100% with the OP. I’ll be in PP wearing white.

Let's do it. Go MF VOLS

Ok, so let me see if I get this straight. There is a disagreement on the definition of "supporting our team". We have one guy that says showing up, cheering loudly, being color coordinated for effect, trying to keep UT tickets in UT fans hands ALL for a game UT is CERTAIN to lose is how he defines "supporting our team". Then we have another guy that says BECAUSE UT is CERTAIN to lose so in order to avoid embarrassment you shouldn't show up, make any noise, hope nobody notices the game is even being played and that is how he defines "supporting the team".

One thing I am certain of is that one of those descriptions DOES define "supporting our team" and the other defines cowardice. One defines intestinal fortitude and the other spineless. One defines commitment and the other what you get with bandwagon riders. Each of you can decide which is which.
