Do we even know if the original article is even accurate? I was very concerned when news broke on CDT , but I'm not really concerned about this one . This writer could be full of shat for all we know . Trying to make a name for himself
The school always investigates....it's why they have a compliance department but they have already stated that Barnes wasn't involved in any improprieties

In the interest of fairness, the statement from the University of Texas stated, "The university has no information that suggests former men's basketball coach Rick Barnes knew of, or was involved in any academic improprieties."
The first seven words of that quote are very key because they don't explicitly exonerate him. Not having immediate information readily available that implicates him doesn't make him innocent necessarily. That will be determined in the investigation.
This isn't simply a non-story anymore, and if for no other reason, it casts yet another black eye on our program in the court of public opinion where more often that not, guilt is presumed in favor of innocence. The media has run with it and will print headlines that suggest guilt just to attract readers.
.....and makes me think there are lots that would set them up and outright lie to take a jab at them. The Donnie Tyndall/Rick Barnes stories being covered extensively in the national media have told me one thing: There are A LOT of people who loathe Tennessee athletics and get immense joy out of seeing bad things happen to the university and its sports teams.
