Cheating Under Rick Barnes

The story does not even make sense.

If she is administering the test, why would she not do something when she caught him and why is this being brought up now?

I can't believe Mr. Anti-Rick hasn't chimed in. I guess not a big enough BUZZ.

This is far as I have been able to get in reading this thread and it is now time to comment!

There is so much hypocrisy here it boggles the mind! I believe that all coaches deserve their day in court. However, the RB backers think that he is the only coach that has this right. They want Barnes vindicated and Tyndall given the electric chair.

NEITHER ONE HAS YET BEEN FULLY INVESTIGATED!

"What's fair for the goose, is fair for the gander", comes to mind!

Anyone on this thread that does not give this a "like", I would have to consider a hypocrite. Not because I want more likes, but because I would like to think most on here believe in justice and fairness!

Other than this, I can only say, "FIRE HART"!

You do realize Texas has come out and said Barnes was not involved and had no knowledge, right?

Cram your like in your pipe and smoke it SD.

I wanted CDT to survive and CRB to be given a pass on this. I was fine with Bruce moving on and I was also fine with CCM getting the opportunity to get things on track in years 4 & 5. So your generalizations just went poof!

lol

Why all the calls to fire Hart when this is a non-story?

Hart is a wimp bc he could not face CDT and deliver his decision about Donnie's future at UT! He also made up his mind about CRB and had no contact with anyone else. PERIOD!

If you know of any other candidates that he spoke with would you please share?

Because of the dustup the media is trying to create over the alleged scandal at Rick Barnes' previous program.

Where in the manual does it say you have to contact more than 1 coach ? RB must of been at the top of his list and Hart went and got him. So why would Hart need to contact any other coaches ?
I am just glad your not the AD, you would probably still be interviewing coaches on the NAIA level.

What do you think was going to happen with the NCAA and CDT? He got off once at Moorehead State do you really think he was going to get lucky twice at Southern Miss? I think CDT is a good basketball coach but he's not smart enough to not get caught breaking the rules. Not to mention he lied to the UT administration, so tell me what should have Dave Hart done? Please tell me of your experiences as a D1 athletic director and dealing with the NCAA?

The idea of conjecture is so convenient when it helps your argument (quote 1). Not so much when it destroys your argument though (quote 2).

So tell me, who is the hypocrite?

Well, this is a rather perplexing response. I started reading some of this thread and saw the predictable "We Area Cursed" responses and saw the expected Fire Dave Hart comments. This is to be expected from a fan base that has never been able to wait until the dust clears to actually see what is there.

Then i see your response. It was worse than any of the others because it selectively omits information that is readily known.

Donnie Tyndall was given every opportunity by Dave Hart to survive the Southern Miss investigation. Unfortunately, as we knew then and know now, he was not exonerated by the NCAA. This is pretty clear since the firing happened days after the NCAA enforcement staff met with Tyndall and with Hart and the UT administration. We also know that Hart, when vetting Tyndall, was never told about the issues at Southern Miss. Yes, the NCAA had not started it's investigation, but Tyndall knew that what he was doing was illegal and he chose to keep that to himself. By doing that, he put Tennessee at risk. We also now know that TYndall was guilty of some secondary violations in his short time at Tennessee.

You comment on the hiring of Rick Barnes by stating that Hart never talked to anyone else. Can you imagine the fallout he would have faced if he had to Rick Barnes that he had to interview others before he could make his decision and Barnes had taken another job? It would be similar to seeing Butch Jones leave, having Nick Saban leave near the same time and not immediately offering him the job because you had to talk to other candidates. You simply do not put the best candidate on hold to look for someone better, when someone better does not exist.

Yes SD. Donnie is so sure he's going to be vindicated that he's passing up his chance as heir to the throne at KY for a chance to coach in the NBA D-leagues.
Begging for the likes again.
Buzz is a true SD fan. if you can't win them over, manufacture them.

He was a noted Steve Prohm advocate...but Buzz mainly wanted someone from a mid-major that could coach "for the next 15 years". Didn't want to hear that it was feasible with Barnes...because after 10 he's 70, and you immediately die then. :)
