Chavis Voted Assistant Coach of the Year

Chavis has done an absolutely hideous job this season. Truly amazing! He isn't even the best assistant coach on his own team, nonetheless the entire nation!

I wouldn't say he's had a banner year. He had a few rough games for sure . . . but calling it hideous is a little ridiculous.

just further proof that awards are based on what you've done as a whole, not this year. hypesman for another example. Unless the award is going to chavis for accepting blame and keeping his mouth shut while everyone bows to Cut.. he did do a good job of that

considering what he lost from last year, i'd say he got the most with what he had to work with.

i think the linebacker play has been as about as good as the last few years.

didn't seem to bother OSU's DC! You know your gonna lose players! they don't sign lifetime contracts! you rotate em out every year!

Really? Where were those great linebackers during the Air Force game or the Arkansas game when they were running the ball right down our throat?

You're right CD12. As I stated before that we all know that you know much more than other NCAA coaches. I mean it means nothing when your peers select you for an award.

Here's the explanation of how Chavis could possibly have won this award this year. The award isn't just based on on-field coaching ability.

"The criteria for the award are not limited to on-field coaching ability and the success of the team and players that these assistant coaches have worked with. Service to the community through charitable work and other volunteer activities, participation in AFCA activities and events, participation in other professional organizations and impact on student-athletes are all taken into account in the selection process."

i wasn't going to count southern cal, as i concede the arkansas team of today is like apples to oranges of the team that faced usc

I believe that should be you. To think that you know more than other coaches who make a ton of money and eat, breath and sleep football is laughable at best. I think you need to take your hater glasses off.

Here are the games in question. Take into acount that DMAC was not in the USC but sparingly with only 9 carries due to a injury.
Got dinged up early in Mis St and was pulled. And this is the 3 games in question.

USC = 130 yds
Bammer = 172
MS ST = 154

Yep, they all shut them down.
