Chavis is Senile

Watching SEC Title Game,

Commentator reported Chavis saying this,

"I've coached a lot of great defensive tackles at Tennessee, Albert Haynesworth and John Henderson, but I wouldn't take the both of them for sophomores Logan and Brockers."

Is he serious? Haynesworth and Henderson at defensive tackle would be :pepper:

Chavis is being a coach. keeping his young guys motivated. don't take so literal

With better athletes you can take more risks.
Our glory years teams had lb, dl and dbs that littered the NFL landscape, and still do to some extent.

Do not believe that better athletes is the reason for a philosophical change by Chavis. One of the posters indicated that the conservative d at UT was a Fulmer construct that Chavis executed. A debate for the ages!

Sounds like coach speak to me.
Exactly, what else is he supposed to say? "Yea these guys are really good and when they grow up they have a chance to be as good as Henderson and Haynesworth they were all-timers".

I don't think that would play too well with LSU fans.

Like I said, I really don't mind, but the comparison made me laugh a little.

I think Coach Chavis is a good coach. Coach Dooley may be a good coach if he is ever in the situation where he has the caliber of players that Chief has. Of course then, that would require some on here realizing that the X's and O's are only as good as the players are.

Dooley has every opportunity to go get good players. I've seen us out recruit LSU plenty of times, it is possible.
