Chavis gets emotional on Vols

Old news. IMO he was emotional because he felt he was done dirty here. He felt he was entitled. He has moved on. We should too.

He was emotional b/c he was having flash backs of 3rd & 22.....

Jk

I know there's a special place in Chavis' heart for UT, but it's time for all parties to move along.

He has great athletes at LSU probably better than any recent (last 5 years)UT guy except maybe Berry but he coaches the same way 3rd and long he was worst coach in country for 25 years. He was a great guy and after Fulmer left the writing on the wall was there.Lets face it he hit a home run going to LSU and got his second ring and if Myles had ever figured out his QB sucked last night and tried Lee maybe the results might have been different.Although Bama played great and there QB was perfect almost all night

I have no idea how you pulled this out of that article. While I wasn't always happy with the Chief and I felt it was time for that regime to go, I never saw a sense of entitlement from him and I am very grateful to him for what he gave to this university. He is a good man, a good leader and a good coach.......3rd downs were his Achilles heel though.

More than likely because he played college ball and cut his teeth in coaching for the school he played for.

Nice douchey effort on your part anyway.

It's kind of like getting an old girlfriend back. Never as good as you remembered.
:good!: He can get away with a lot with LSU talent. I don't want to suffer through the 3rd and long and end of game prevent defenses again. He admittedly doesn't like to recruit and we need to get good players on the roster at this time in our history. I thank him for his service at UT and wish him the best.

Good analysis. I agree. Would like to say 3rd & Chavis bit him again but it was more than that. Saban had Bama well-prepared and LSU probably were more relaxed in that they expected to win but Bama definitely earned it. That was one tough defense.

Chavis is respected by all CFB experts as one of the Best DC's in the Nation.
I Thought LSU defense played very well last night .

Miles did not adjust at halftime, as LSU offense was inept and could not sustain drives (QB Play) leaving defense on the field too long.

Chavis is a man of Character, and will always be remembered as a loyal and dedicated to Tennessee program.

Tennesse would be fortunate to get him back.

I like Chief. I always did. HOWEVER lets not forget all the times he let us down as a DC.

And yes, he sounds REALLY bitter about the lack of loyalty from UT when he was fired.

after that bad game against alabama, chavis will be lucky to keep his job. The lsu D was terrible.

A guy gets emotional talking about the school he loves and the "fans" see it as a chance to take a shot at him. Nice. Way would anyone want the DC job. How can I love something so much and hate everyone else that does?

Because many of his defenses have faired well in national rankings, but his scheming isn't something ANYONE has ever lauded. He's been extremely fortunate to have coached at two places where talent was abundant. That's been his greatest asset and it would be foolish to argue anything to the contrary. UT's defense had some meltdowns (at times with tons of talent) that would have gotten him fired at any other significant BCS school. UT AND Fulmer were extremely loyal

I respect his time here and glad he is a former Vol, but there are much better DCs out the and we can do better.
