Starting to? I plan my commutes against rush hour on the ridge cut. It's insanity.

Yeah it is pretty bad already. It seems like TDOT did a study a couple of years ago about the feasibility of adding lanes in that area. I think it was 2012. Anyways...TDOT pretty much said there was no way they could do it due to the "staggering" cost.

Its got to happen eventually. Was just seeing a headline today that Chattanooga gets the most semi-truck traffic in the country now. Truly the crossroads of the southeast. It is hard to imagine 24 getting widened though.

How much is EPB's gig service? When I looked last year, it was like $200 per month while Google's was $60 per month in the mid west.

Gig service is $70/mo (used to be $300). 100 Mb service (the slowest they offer) is $58/mo ... and their customer service is awesome! How often have you heard someone say that about Comcast?

Oh I agree. Something will eventually have to be done. It's even worse as you go towards Lookout Valley. The interstate is literally sandwiched between the river and Lookout Mountain. At one point TDOT was throwing around the idea of "stacking" lanes where they didnt have room to go left or right. I can't even begin to think what that would cost.

When did you go on drugs? I've been to the school several times it's Close to the rush on Lee HWY.

I actually quit a long time ago. Maybe it's lingering effects.

I'm almost sure they had a middle-school campus / gymnasium on Cross Street in Rossville/FO about 10 years ago when they started up. I just remember going to a bball game there. That's all I got!

A huge lift for Chattanooga is the city wide ultra high speed broadband network their power utility has deployed. They are providing lots of services, TV and phone, most importantly ultra high speed internet broadband at extremely low pricing. This has spurred economic growth especially in high tech, creating good paying jobs and in turn lifting every facet of Chattanooga life. While being a great thing overall for the areaitalso threatens to pul jobs and new economic development from the Knoxville are to Chattanooga.

Including being leveraged for Smart Grid projects which will be a major source of technical jobs in the next couple decades.

I am not trying to bust your bubble to much, but recruiting is probably going to focus more and more on Middle Tennessee. By 2025 the 10 county MPO for Davidson Co. will have a population of aprox 2,000,000 and by 2035 those same 10 counties population will be aprox 2,700,000 which is bigger than present day Denver metro area. This is just basically Nashville/Davidson County and the surrounding counties for the most part. There are plenty of others that are growing but not in that population count.

That is why you are see players like Hurd, Malone, J Jennings, J Jones, Barnett, Phillips, Gaulden, Robertson signing with the VOLS the last 2 years out of that 10 county area.

I've got some time at work so I thought I start a thread :p About an idea I've had recently.

If you know anything about Chattanooga you know the city is on the rise. #RiseToTheTop. Ever since Volkswagen came to the city, its been growing like crazy. VW is expanding soon. And will had another 1500 or so jobs from what I hear. This will bring in more suppliers, Apartments, restaurants, etc

Currently
Knoxville: 183,270
Chattanooga: 173,366

I think within 25 year Chattanooga will pass Knoxville in Population.

The level of high school sports in Chattanooga is getting better. I think that Chattanooga will be able to produce at least 5-10 FBS level players a year. Not long from now. This year they have a good one from McCallie who plays CB.

The state as a whole is suddenly producing more talent. And I think it won't be long before chatt town does it's part to contribute.

What's the idea you had? I thought you were going to suggest moving UT to chatt there for a second

The idea is that because Chattanooga is growing, and eventually there will be more high schoolers in the area. Increasing competition and the number of FBS players that come from the area.

Chattanooga has become a nice city. In the 60s it was dirty, polluted...but with those great mountains! Except for that nightmare I-75/24 junction, I look forward to visiting there again.

Its worse at the I 24and Hwy 27 interchange than the 24 and 75 split .

Are you implying that Vandy could be a potential powerhouse? :):):)

Everytime I hear that damn EPB "roll tide" radio ad on 105.1 I want to do harm to my radio. Will never have EPB because of it...f that.

Good try, but not the same school. This Hamilton Heights have less than 75 students (and that is a high figure). And just like the other poster wrote: it is located on Hickory Valley Road (off Lee Hwy) and behind Gold's Gym, formally The Rush. My workmate's daughter goes there and on occasion has the African players over to their house for dinner and entertainment. Ado is the big name there and the school is making it's rep on international students.
