Remember when this guy spurned the Vols for Boston College? He starts for BC now, and is playing miserably in their bowl game tonight....

Happy he didn't come to UT, and glad Bray is here!

Thoughts?

I think I just heard Bob "I don't know what I'm talking about" Davie compare Bray to Rettig...and Tennessee to BC because "both are from California, and both are early enrollees".

They pay this guy...money?

Rettig isn't half the player Bray is. Not even close.

And Money? No. Trident Layers? Yes.

Bob Davie is an idiot. They were talking about best 1-loss teams and he mentions Alabama. What the f is wrong with you man? They beat up on a piss-poor Michigan State team, good God man.

Davies was comparing tennessee and bc being in similar situations with having freshman quarterbacks from california and both teams naming them starters about half way through the season

He didn't spurn us...We offered and he choose Boston College...Wasn't like he had a ton of offers either he was a 3 star out of high school...Wasn't like he lead us on and then as the last minute dumped us and picked BC.

If I remember correctly, we were grabbing for pretty much anybody out there, because Scroggins was the #1 choice and went to USC.... The Vols went for Rettig, and he said no and chose BC...Then and only then, UT went for Bray... and got him, luckily.

I don't think people remember how bad it was until Bray committed.

Actually the q.b. at BYU, Heap, came in to play along with Scroggins, Rettig. Once all three of them chose other schools we came at Bray harder. He only had offers from San Diego State and Fresno.
People were saying that Bray was no good and surely he would have more offers if he were any good.

We went after Heaps and then Scroggins, and then were waiting on Scroggins so long that Rettig was already about to commit to BC when we came in with a last-minute offer. He liked that BC was in it from the beginning, so he chose them. The timing played a huge role in it--it's not like he chose BC over Tennessee straight up. Anyway, Bray was our next target, and I'm happy with how that ended up.

I remember when it was the END OF THE WORLD when we didnt get him!

Oh and who was that other QB that we didnt get and the boards were on meltdown mode?

I think he went to USC!!! GOOD MOVE you gotta a$$ for a coach and on probation!

Don't really understand the need to downplay recruits that didn't chosse UT.

...if anything this should keep people from going insane when it happens.

....but it wont.
