Chase Rettig commits to Boston College

The 10-20 ranked qb's in 2010 class are not anywhere as good as what UT has now. Those guys (10-20) would not be in the to 30-50 in 2011 class. Why get someone just to get him??? If he can't help, why pull the trigger. That makes no sense. This is a stupid analogy........but if your girlfriend is a 5-6, why go out with a 3-4, wait a while and find a 8-10! Unless you are just really ugly (UT is not ugly).

Again...Has anyone really seen what Stephens can do with decent talent and a good coaching staff?

If BJ had not left, I would tend to agree with you. However with one mediocre senior QB, one mediocre junior QB, and Rozier who has not played football in years, we really need to land a qb in this class. It's true that this is a down year for QB's and we will more than likely sign another, even better QB in next year's class. However we really need to try and sign one solid QB prospect on a yearly basis.

of course people change their minds, and there's alway's a "chance" of something happening....but this race was never as close as some of our fans wanted to believe. it was USC through and through for Scroggins IMO. people just need to let him go.......

I agree.

I'm not talking specifically about his recruitment.

I don't know if he will or won't. No one does. He could very well see something this season that causes him to question his commitment. I certainly don't think that is out of the question, granted he's certainly already aware of SC's depth at QB. Seeing it first hand (Barkley maybe starting/playing well) could very well be a rude awakening for his plans. We'll see.
