how in the hell do we lose a recruit to Boston College? Are they division 1? Do they have football stadium on campus?

They have all that and the current status of Matt Ryan.
Alot of recruits probably watched a few Tennessee games last year. The worst offense in the NCAA. Thanks Clawson for the Spider Spread. Looked great on paper.

If Phil had only signed Clausen III...this wouldn't be such a blow....

We could always pick up a couple of 3 star QBs and hope that Stephens gets better when Crompton leaves.

Well ain't this freakin' lovely.. Man I hope JS is coming here.. I know it is early, and we still don't know about JS, but it still burns... Now I'm worried about JS commiting to UF..That would be like rubbing salt in the wound...

When Joe Boisture of Saline (MI) High School reneged on his commitment to Boston College, the Eagles coaching staff had to scramble to pick up another QB commitment. Luckily for them, they did have to wait long.

I dont have a membership but its on his google news if anyone wants to find out more!

there will be guys that will come out of nowhere over the course of this next season, just be patient

...I don't know what our win/lossrecord will be, our ranking, bowl possibilities etc. this season... but it would seem to me that one thing CLK, Chaney, Big O, Coach Gran, et al have proven...they can recruit, and I expect they will pull someone from the juco ranks who wants a shot at the NFL and will come our way. I was not shot up the a__ __ with this fella but I would turn a double back flip over scroggins signing, although I believe he will be a trojan.

How big were Brees and Orton etc. before they came to Purdue...I could be wrong, but I don't think t hey were studs before Chaney got hold of them. Did the VOLS recruit either, if so I don't recall it.

Keeping the faith in the VOLS.:crossfingers:

well once again i will say that i am not excited about finding some random QB who steps up his senior year, because in case no one else has noticed, he's not gonna come here. its a pattern. everytime we think some QB is ours to lose, we lose him.

this sucks

Yes and yes. We got in late with Rettig and BC actually has the more recent QB star to sell in Matt Ryan. They also probably have more of an OL to sell...

Most of all though, again, we got in late...

This is unbelievable. As big of a football school as UT is, with the Stadium, Facilities, Fans, and Tradition it is unreal that we are having this much trouble landing a quarterback. Especially when we have the thinnest depth chart at QB in the country. With only Nick on the roster for 2010 and him being a senior, it would be totally illogical for Scroggins to not come to Tennessee, unless he is a real homebody and needs to be close to home.
