Chase Nelson started all of this

Its a good thing A&E doesnt film a "48 hour Mystery" in knoxville Because they would be there for a month dealing with the KPD

The bar owner said he took off running like "a little girl" after the fight. on the sports animal he identified him by using Nelson's number. then again it's the bar owner talking...i don't believe anything he has to say.

The policeman is in the hospital because he hit his head on the pavement, possibly a curb, after he was punched. The punch didn't actually do the damage.

IIRC, one of the workplace deaths reported by OSHA last winter was an employee that slipped on ice and hit their head against a curb.

It's starting to seem as if the folks from Bar Knoxville are all victims of "They All Look The Same To Me" disease. Multiple witnesses appear to be using three large black gentlemen interchangeably in their recitation of events.
It is amazing that people are just now beginning to figure this out. Only one of the three (Hughes, Walls, Nelson) will be kicked off the team. Looking to be Nelson at this point, who was already suspended for grades this spring.

There's no way some kid is going to take the blame completely for this if he hadn't done anything wrong. College is expensive!

Anyone think Myles is talking now? Strange this just now came out about Nelson. Myles is off the team and has nothing to lose at this point. If he can rat out a few of his former teammates to save his own butt, I bet he would do it in a heartbeat. Just speculation of course.

where did this "elbow to the face" rumor start? All I saw was he "struck" the officer. He might end up having a gun by the end of these rumors

There was a quote in one of the articles that stemmed from comments from Debusk or a copy of the arrest report that said something to the fact that Myles elbow hit the office in the face while trying to resist the arrest.

It sounded more like elbow hit officer in the face during the struggle vs. Myles intentionally elbowed the guy in the face.

no but I don't think it's ever been proven anyone "cold cocked the KPD cop or who was kicking him when he went down". There's a huge range of things that could have happened

Until the we get the story from the cop (if he even remembers) then this is what we have to go on.

Officer still in serious condition GoVolsXtra

My opinion at this point is that DD got a pretty good idea about what happened early on. As it comes out, I think Walls and possibly King will look worse. It wasn't necessary to suspend Nelson... he was already suspended. For a senior to be in that situation having never made a contribution on the field... Just let him go.

It is difficult to say about all the others. Hughes has gone from being the center of it all to possibly not being in big trouble.

The confusion among the witnesses will probably result in no one getting a really tough sentence. But like Larry has said repeatedly, Dooley troubles will probably put several guys who are never charged on the road.

I would really hate it... but if Denarius Moore or any other upper classman wasn't trying desperately to stop what was happening then they need to be gone. That's not what you should expect from a team leader.

Keep in mind both how dark it is in Bar Knox and how many people were involved. You would have to be literally in the middle of the fight to see what exactly went down. As far is outside, its not like that area of the steet is exactly covered on flood lights. Even standing outside Half Barrel watchin all this go down you would have no earthly idea who did what.

well, I've heard none of this with the people I've spoken with. Nelson's name has not been mentioned. and I am not questioning if any of this is accurate because to me, it seems reliable.

Goes to show how reliable ANY information is on this subject, IMO
The disturbing part of this is that it backs up the early statements of the bar owner. If it turns out he's telling the truth across the board, the problems are about as bad as it gets.

As far as King and Walls I think their suspension is pretty cut and dry. They were obviously not supposed to be there that night per internal team discipline, yet they were, which is why they were "indefinintely suspended" by Dooley.

Is that from a legal standpoint or just being on the team? I would think that the conflicting eyewitness accounts would help them on the legal side.

If the bar owner says "Here's what happened..." and he is deemed credible, the prosecution would simply use him. The defense would have to call the people who saw it differently. It makes the criminal case easier to defend, but if Dooley finds the bar owner's story accurate he'll take punitive action regardless what happens at the City County Building.

Two different officers here. One off duty supposedly punched by Walls according to Tony Basilio. TB said he got all his info from the KPD and those that were there.

On duty arresting officer was elbowed by Myles when he was trying to get away.

we dont even know if the cop is still in the hospital

I am sure the KPD will start its search for a suspect who was sighted on the Grassy Knoll

Thanks for the info, but it looks like the story may change again. Someone in the Athletic Department is denying the story about Nelson being there.

I realize it's 2 different incidents but again, forgive me if I don't believe TB and his "sources"

and struck by an elbow while wrestling is still different than a deliberate elbow which is what everyone is making it sound like.
