Charlottesville white nationalists riots

Don't know if this belongs here or if I should start a thread, but for the love of God what is happening to the country:

"ESPN apologized for auctioning off a black football player during a fantasy draft because it offended people who said it was like a slave auction."

CBS evening news is spending the majority of their coverage on it.

4 days after a deranged Bernie bro attempted a mass assassination on GOP Congressmen, it was relegated to the bottom tickers.

This kind of **** just further degrades the media. Far worse implications for them than for Trump

They wouldn't do it if the weak minded American public didn't lap it up. The American public has to be told how to think. Can't think for themselves.

This is never going to stop:

After demanding that southern states take down statues of Confederate figures, the activist Left is now targeting an iconic American president featured on Mount Rushmore.

On Monday, more than 200 individuals held a protest inside the American Museum of Natural History in New York City to take down the supposedly “racist” statue of former President Theodore Roosevelt. The protest’s organizers, NYC Stands with Standing Rock and Decolonize This Place, also called for Columbus Day to be renamed Indigenous People’s Day.

“A stark embodiment of the white supremacy that Roosevelt himself espoused and promoted,” said the group of protesters in a statement. “The statue is seen as an affront to all who pass it on entering the museum, but especially to African and Native Americans.”

Nah. There are talks among circles in the Army about renaming all the bases named after Confederate Generals after Union Generals. A must is for Fort Benning to be renamed Fort Sherman. Names that have been suggested to replace Confederate general names are Brig. Gen. John Buford, Maj. Gen. Winfield Scott Hancock, Maj. Gen. John F. Reynolds, and Brigadier General Joshua Chamberlain.

Lulz. The north still treated black people as inferior beings. They had segregated units and wouldn't let them do much more than cook or move supplies, a practice which continued until after WWII. Might as well follow this to its logical conclusion and just number them instead of names.

George Washington

Martin Van Buren

William Henry Harrison

John Tyler

James K. Polk -Tennessee

Zachary Taylor

Andrew Johnson - Tennessee

Should all of the monuments erected to the slaveholding presidents be destroyed?

Should the University of Virginia be closed because Thomas Jefferson, slaveholder, founded the school?

Groups such as ANTIFA are catering to the progressive movement and enticing towards younger, disenfranchised progressives in hopes of increasing their base. There are those on the left that look the other way when a left leaning hate group is involved in events such as this past weekend. Consistently blaming one side when clearly all parties involved are responsible for their own actions.

By continuing to do so for small political gains will eventually be the lefts undoing.

If you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

The people suiting up for antifa look like guys who did LARP or WOW and have never actually been in a real fight. I'm surprised one of them hasn't set playing cards on fire and thrown them like Gambit.

Why not stop all sports drafts?

And should teams have contracts where they can trade players like property?

You're right. The snowball effect is happening now.

are not even familiar with Antifa. As its name implies, it is a group that espouses an anti-fascist viewpoint--which would be a good thing. Why would we now have an anti-fascist group? Did it occur to your little brain to ask that question? Maybe it's because Trump and Bannon and their ilk of white supremacists have tried to take over the government, have encouraged right-wing neo-Nazi nonsense. Breitbart is a white supremacist website. So put 2 & 2 together in your head and figure out who the real bad guys are here. That would be the people who started all this bull$****--and that's not antifa--who lugnuts like you want to pretend are the problem. Neo-nazis and the KKK are hate groups--and so this is where it started. But you conservative blockheads want to pretend otherwise. You're such tools.

I was on the elevator today and a black woman and Hispanic guy were talking about all the ignorance of white supremacists and such as they got on. Once they saw me on the elevator they stopped talking, and once they got off waited until they were "safe" and started up again. I wished I could have gotten my phone to play Dixie just to crank the awkward up to 11.

Teddy Roosevelt invited Booker T. Washington to the White House for dinner, the first president to invite a black person to the White House.

Condemnation followed, especially in the South. In the 1904 (won) and 1912 (lost) presidential elections, TR did not carry a single southern state.

Do your homework on ANTIFA. Plenty to see on social media, group websites, etc. BTW, both sides with extremists points of view are the problem.

Try again.

It's funny Armchair, given how plugged into American society that you are, that you've never heard of this group. Let me help you out. While their name suggests that they are anti-fascism they're actually not. They use fascist tactics to accomplish their goals. They've destroyed private property, lit parked cars on fire, smashed windows, shut down public transit, and attacked police. Hell even this past weekend they attacked a female reporter who was covering the events in Charlottesville. Antifa conflates speech with violence, believing that “offensive” rhetoric, “hate” speech, and micro-aggressions should be counteracted with macro-aggressions, or physical violence. They're anti-capitalist who's roots are grounded in Marxism.

If these people hellbent on removing ALL evidence that reminds them of slavery, aren't they going to have to send all black folks back to Africa?
