I was born there and grew up there my whole life until i came to school here in knoxville. Great place to live. I lived in Matthews which is in South Charlotte. South Charlotte is the ideal place to live. Really nice area, nice houses and neighborhoods, good schools (if you have kids). The city is definitely growing and becoming a better city in the southeast. But all my family is there and my old man is a officer for CMPD. If you do happen to move there i would be highly surprised if you didnt like it. Best of luck to you

My folks live there - seems like an alright place. Plenty to do but easy to get rural.

I am in line for a promotion and that is where I'd have to relocate. Have heard nothing but good things so far.

Nice city. Traffic can be bad but nothing like Atlanta. Only real drawback is Windy lives there. :)

I am living in Charlotte area now, have been for a few months. Traffic isn't too awful once you find the right times to go places. I am only here temporarily, but I have enjoyed it.

No, that is a huge plus! Traffic is bad in certain areas, but the rest is fine.

What are the best places to live. I have to girls, one 8 and the other 2. Schools are important. We will probably be looking at public first, but aren't ruling out private either.

I am in Memphis. I have never lived outside of West Tn. I work for a Freight Carrier. Great company. This promotion would be huge for my family. Very nervous.

Moving from Memphis to Charlotte, you will think you've died and gone to heaven.

Charlotte would be a step up for you then. This city is very diverse in college team support since there is not a big school nearby. Makes it fun! Lots of stuff to do during off season.

Awesome. I am definitely looking forward to the opportunity.

As far as schools... volwindy can probably help more than I will be able to. But it does seem like there are plennnnnty to choose from, both private and public. As someone said, south charlotte is where the money is, and living in south Carolina or huntersville/concord/kannapolis isn't a bad deal.

I don't have kids, but people rave about fort mill schools, so if your job is on the south side, I'd highly consider living on the SC side, plus its cheaper everything. People also like ballantyne and Huntersville areas, but those are high traffic areas on the interstate. I'm moving to the south park area in 2 months, which is one of my favorite areas.

Agree. If you live in Concord or Huntersville and have to be at work before 9, expect 1-1.5 hr commute.

Awesome. I am definitely looking forward to the opportunity.

Ut, usc, uga, wva, and Michigan state alumni all have their game watches at the same place, so it can get crowded, but it is a good family fun time, I love going, but this year was depressing to go to of course!

I'm in sales so location regarding work isn't a big deal. I only would go to the office once or twice a week.

No doubt. That was my next question. Do many UT games get played on TV or would I need to purchase College Gameday package to get them?

I love Charlotte. It's a great city that doesn't feel as big as it is.
They've actually got good morning sports radio, too.
Please feel free to jump aboard the Panthers bandwagon!
