Louisville was a grease fire. Will be a 10 win team next year. I understand it the Big East. Charlie will be on the sidelines at a football school this time next year. I wish it was ours, but I wonder if Hart already has his mind made up on Dooley's replacement.

Strong would be a fantastic replacement should we need a HC next year.

What on earth!!! Do you guys know nothing about Strong? Louisville? They lost to FIU and Marshall this season and then NC State.

No way that Louisville was in worse shape than what Dooley inherited.

Put it this way, Strong had two UK games this year...

Managed to beat UK.

I know several influential alumni. Petrino and Krag left a situation similar to UT's, but it wasn't quite as bad.

I think cdd will be here for a while..If we get crs as dc in a good special teams coach and everyone stays healthy next year I see us winning 8-9 games...if not cdd is gone in crs is our head coach with LT moves up to dc

what did Shannon ever do at UM with all that talent? 85% of the Dade kids want to be Canes and he never did anything with that. If Strong was coaching at UM he would have a Top 3 class yearly and win 9 games a year. Shannon and Strong maybe better DC than HC but imo CS will have better HC success.

.......because hes an ex-gator. We get it. now go try to figure out whats wrong with your b-ball team.

so much love for CS, mainly because he is not on the staff. If he was, he would be ripped by many on here. The 'other guy' is always the best coach isn't he?

ARE YOU PEOPLE SERIOUS?

Progress? By posting an identical record against an AWFUL schedule? He beats freaking Eastern Kentucky. Memphis. MTSU. Arkansas State is one of the stronger teams he plays.

He lost to Marshall and FIU! This year! The thundering herd...They are a defense he score 13 on and they gave up 60 to Tulsa and 45 to the Ohio Bobcats...Marshall Football - Thundering Herd News, Scores, Videos - College Football - ESPN

FIU lost to Louisiana, Duke and Western Kentucky. That is not LSU, no it is a team that Maryville, Alcoa and CAK could probably beat.

Charlie Strong has cast some type of spell on some people on here.

Also, a 5-7 UT team crushed Cincinnati and Cincinnati finished 10-3 with a W over Louisville. I know I know, UT is in the SEC, not the Big East. But still, just saying...

Kragthorpe and Petrino left a mess comparable to Kiffin/Fulmer. So, yes, he is showing progress.

I bet it's close. Right now strong is 14-12 in two seasons. Shannon was 28-22. At the pace Strong is going, looks like it's gonna be about the same.

28 and 22 for a team that is the king of the sunbelt as opposed to an ACC team that scheduled teams like Tennessee for non con is not a close comparison either.

If Strong does not have a significantly better record than RS, he will have done worse.

Obviously I am being hyperbolic. I know that Strong is not in the Sunbelt, but his Memphis, FIU, Eastern Kentucky type schedule straight up sucks.

As someone else pointed out, a 5 win TN team got one of its wins against the 10 win team from his conference.

Tennessee also has SEC players. Moan and groan about UT's roster all you want but the starters are very talented.

I can guarandangtee you that Strong has a more talented roster than Marshall.

It is not close.

By the way:

Signing Day Blitz: Ranking the Big East
1. Louisville

? Commit List
? CardinalSport.com
? Message Board
Headliner: Four-star defensive back Gerod Holliman of Miami (Fla.) Southridge is a 6-foot, 180-pounds safety prospect who should flourish in Louisville's strength and conditioning program, but also has the skill set to line up at cornerback. Holliman has great ball skills and is not afraid to make contact.
Sleeper: Offensive linemen standing 6 feet 2 tend to be overlooked nowadays, but at 295 pounds, three-star John Miller of Miami (Fla.) Central is extremely strong and has great feet for his size. The Cardinals staff also did a great job fending off a few schools leading up to Signing Day.
Overview: Charlie Strong is proving to everyone that he is still a recruiting force in the Sunshine State. Twelve of the 19 signed players for the Cardinals come from the state of Florida, including four-star talent such as Holliman, Teddy Bridgewater, Eli Rogers and Andrew Johnson. He also went head-to-head with the big three in Florida on several recruits, and even stole away defensive end Bryant Dubose from Miami on Signing Day.

These are all the Florida kids I was talking about (Strong is doing it again this year) and yes I know it is in part also his asst from there, but Strong is going to start losing the best of those kids to Tennessee if Randy Shannon is really here on Monday.

And Strong beat a AP ranked team(still ranked at the end of the year) this year. We could do this all day long.
