Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

No, I could think through the circumstances of a shark bite and its consequences and have a good idea of what the person's faced and facing and have no sympathy for them. If they're stupid enough to jump in a shark tank on a dare they deserve no sympathy.
The distinction seems pretty clear.

It seems to entail an understanding that comes from sharing in what one feels. Feeling what they feel as though the feelings are your own.

Sympathy seems to be the ability to feel compassion for what someone else if going through.

I can better empathize with someone who's lost a loved one if I have lost a loved one. If I haven't lost a loved one, I can have sympathy/compassion by imagining what they must be going through.

To be honest, the criticism sounds like little more than sour grapes and post-assassination character assassination, considering the level of twisting needed to turn it into a criticism.

I listened to CK's quote on that. He basically said that he doesn't like the concept that someone must be able to feel a pain on behalf for someone else to offer compassion. It's a greater ability to be able to have sympathy for things you can't feel or completely understand.

I gave an example. It will be hard for me to have empathy for someone that has gender dysphoria. But I can seek sympathy for them.

What is the greater ideal? To give compassion to those that I empathize with? Or to give compassion to those that I can't empathize with?

I suspect Charlie was riffing on Jesus' principal:

“If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.

If you can only offer compassion to those who are like you, what great ideal have you lived out? Isn't it a greater expression of compassion to give it to those who are not like you?

You would think the left would fawn over that concept. But that wouldn't be very politically expedient, would it?

Or...they will have at least 2 options of ideologies to adopt?

Being that these are HS students, and the faculty as well as many textbooks are already slanted in a decidedly Leftist and atheist direction...I am all for teens aged 15 to 18 having more information and more choices of who and what to believe. Public schools and especially colleges have become Leftist Indoctrination centers. Unless you want a future US populated entirely by only Democrats and antifa, more choice is clearly a good thing IMO. If the TPUSA stuff was mandatory I would be firmly against it...but it isn't. Sadly the teachers and curriculum ARE mandatory though if homeschooling or private school isnt an option in the household which is BS but thats an entirely different discussion.
I don't agree with anyone indoctrinating my kid, other than me.

Am I obligated to waste my time with people, LOL?

You are posting in a forum where you are in tune with the general vibe, and you have no idea what it's like to have 95% of the posters disagreeing with you (and maybe 30% of them argue in bad faith). You know how many f-ing replies I get? I'm on here too much and that's with me ignoring a huge chunk of my replies. I'm not afraid of any debate, I just don't have time for the big time-wasters.
One would think that if you took the trouble to make vague accusations to assassinate the character of someone who was just the victim of political assassination for their beliefs, you'd at least be willing to discuss that when asked about it, so as not to come across as ... whatever it is you're coming across as when you do that.

Would you like to discuss exactly which of Charlie's beliefs failed his professed faith, and why?

I'll try again:

If Jesus is the example and embodiment of Biblical love, the ultimate and eternal implementation of immigration law for His Kingdom should be considered. Can we discuss His words on that?

If they prove to be at odds with your modern sensibilities, can we discuss why those immigration laws could/would be considered loving?

What does the Bible say that could be used to judge God's probable view on DEI/AA?

Are there any other of your personal sensibilities that we need to discuss when it comes to judging how well Charlie aligned with Hs Biblical faith?

Which one? You mean the senators where the anti-trump guy shot/killed them for voting with the Republicans?
This guy?
"But David Carlson, a roommate and close friend of Mr. Boelter’s, said Mr. Boelter voted for Donald J. Trump last year and was particularly passionate about opposing abortion.
Mr. Carlson said he had known Mr. Boelter since fourth grade."
From the NYT.

Here I present my speech.
It seems, to me, that the brutal murder of Charlie Kirk has caused outrage for Kirk's killer and condemnation of Kirk, and the currently 336 pages have more than proved this. We should all be shameful this is what our great nation has come to. I wish all the best in future arguments in disagreements, I've had it with this thread!
Ciao!

It's not at all ridiculous. TPUSA is groupthink. Okiestan may mandate that every high school have a chapter.
It's enforced groupthink to not enforce participation in a groupthink?

It's enforced groupthink to provide the opportunity for people to voluntarily attend chapters that promote open discussion of alternate views?

OK. I guess.
