Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

Great to see a “libertarian” showing so much love for another “libertarian”.

This love affair that you have for a man who set up a hotline during Covid to snitch on your neighbors, friends, and families for gathering together to celebrate Thanksgiving was one of the most beautiful moments in the history of freedom and liberties.

Shut down churches but allowed “protests”

This love affair is so beautiful.

What libertarian are you talking about? Kirk? You think he's a libertarian, LOL? Why are you turning THE conservative of the day into a libertarian? Say he's a libertarian, why do I have to like him? Do you like everybody in your tribe? A huge issue for me is immigration. Maybe the 2 biggest issues for me are that and Israel. He's endorsing state-sponsored political violence in both cases. His movement is responsible for a lot of disgusting results during this admin. You can disagree with my take on the results, but now you understand why I wouldn't like him simply because he claims "libertarian" when it's convenient.

IDK what you're talking about with covid. I was against the shutdowns and all that.

So you think somebody can't derive flawed ideas from Biblical principles?

The principles aren't the problem. There are only two great commandments. Kirk only espoused one of them and openly defied the other. It wasn't a weakness or a mere imperfection. His political philosophy was diametrically opposed to the 2nd great commandment.
So, do you think that being in favor of strict border and immigration control is unloving? Do you think that being against DEI is unloving?

I didn't listen to the speech, what international law did Trump brag about breaking?

I accidentally posted that in the wrong thread. That was his UN speech. So he told the UN their countries were going to hell, LOL.

It's unclear whether Newsome meant his remarks about Iran, Venezuela, or both....because that's the state of things right now, just 8 months into the admin.

the government escalated the matter with ICE. so in my book its up to them to diffuse the situation.

the cartel or thugs fall way down my list of worries, government sits near the top.
The government offered cash for illegals to self deport. The sanctuary states/cities are the ones that escalated this. All they had to do was turn over the illegals they arrested and had in their custody.

You and Newsom.

For some reason you keep reposting all things Gavin Newsom like he is some fighter of freedom.

I hate to tell you the bad news but Newsom is a dictator.

Charlie Kirk was good at convincing people he was right, but the ability to convince people that you're right does not make you right. People learn this in college.

It's easy to convince people that leftist ideology is flawed....because it is. So was Charlie Kirk's.
Yeah his while premise about the lack of the nuclear family in the black community was some serious dog ****.

I don't like Newsome, but IDC if I like you if you say something that is funny and also a good point. I've posted MTG, for example, and she's a complete kook.

Newsome didn't say anything anti-libertarian, and also we need to understand that just because you post something somebody said, doesn't mean you endorse all or even any of it. I lay it out for y'all to play it out when I post something without comment.

It's actually in line with my thinking.

Empathy is impossible, the actual act of thinking that you can comprehend or know what Erika Kirk or Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis thought or felt as they watched their husbands assasinated.

Versus Sympathy, the act of feeling sorrow and compassion knowing you can't possibly understand how they thought or felt in that moment.

It makes a lot of sense to me, may have something to do with my ADD type brain though.
No offense but what's dumb about his take is his definition of empathy. I can't know exactly what it feels like to have a leg bitten off by a shark, but I can emphasize with someone that's had that happen because I, and almost anyone else, can think through the generalities of such an event and its consequences. It's like the expression 'put yourself in their shoes'.

@whodeycin85, the quotes don't appear in my reply.

@EasternVol likely shows no internal contradictions b/c of this:

"Such things shouldn't be top down mandates. Leave it to the communities to decide whether they want such a club"

FWIW, I don't disagree with him in general.

That it's required to be established is a problem. Such things shouldn't be top down mandates. Leave it to the communities to decide whether they want such a club.

It's from a sharia law thread... But if the citizens of Oklahoma whom they represent and are implementing the rules that they were voted to impliment... What's the difference, just size,?

It's from a sharia law thread
I pulled it up.

If we Christians want freedom of religion as opposed to freedom from religion, then fair's fair.

If no one in the town takes issue, and it's not against any town ordinances, then what business is it of mine? If it's disturbing the peace and "the peace" complains, give them the old shoe-leather express.

All you have to do is identify with her feeling of loss and feel some of it with her. You don't have to feel exactly what she's feeling or 100% comprehend it. All empathy means is that you feel awful for her mixed with compassion.

Kirk said some wild things about empathy, and it seems those ideas caught on.
