unknown, to CA, masked men are grabbing people off the streets without warrants or real probable cause seems like a pretty good reason for CA to ask questions.

They can ask questions, even go to a CA court but they will have no success since they have no jurisdiction over ICE.

Are you saying that’s just too bad, it’s just their cost of being employed by ICE? Then that ends up being the cost of doing business for all of law enforcement. I agree the policy on these ICE raids should be changed. I don’t agree the individual ICE agents don’t deserve some level of personal protection.

Agree. Policy change is needed with how raids are conducted and protections for people with legal status and up to date documentation getting caught up in these raids. That would greatly diffuse the situation.

What are the ice agents doing? They are enforcing immigration laws. The fact they have to wear a mask to protect their identity says more about the public than it does them. What the hell difference does it make whether I'm arrested by someone with a mask or not? They have badges and identification on their uniforms.

Newsom's on the right side of that. There's no good reason for ICE to hide behind masks.

I can't agree there. Ice works against the interests of a multinational system of smugglers and traffickers and other aspects of organized crime. Their work often makes them targets of cartels and gangs foreign and domestic. That means they and their families are subject to retribution unless their identities are concealed within reason.

There are cases of organized crime conspiring to dox these agents and publish their information.

Why shouldn't they if their work puts them at elevated or extreme risk?

They aren't doing whatever they want, they are enforcing immigration policy.

If my political enemies are acting within the law they acting within the law. That doesn't change. Immigration laws and enforcement never changed, they were just ignored under the prior administration.
